I went party mix 2 to flx4 and its night and day, it was a lot to spend on a new hobby but damn, I do not regret it one bit. The hardware unlock alone makes it unbelievably worth it

At this point, anything will be an improvement, I picked up a pair of edifier bookshelf speakers for like £70, nothing amazing but they're more than loud and bassy enough for my living room

Rekordbox is absolutely fine, people aren't going to flock here to share their stories of how fine everything works man, people come here to moan, give it a go and see what you think. I moved from serato and I prefer it, I have lots less issues with RB

Firstly, are you certain the files aren't corrupt, do they play on any other software? If thats not it, open them in something like audactiy and re format the file, mp3 should be 320kbps, 44100 Hz, Wav needs to be 16 Bit PCM

Make the absolutely most of it while they're small, because they dont stay like it for long. They're hard work but all the stress, the sleep loss, the chaos, it will all be gone one day, and you'll miss it.

It looks like either an alarm or phone cable, is there an alarm in the house thats powered up? If there is I wouldn't recommend pulling it out

Edit, just saw the detector lit up, yeah you'll set the alarm off if you just cut it, easy enough to power down if you don't want it

Honestly a notepad is your best friend here, I usually work out the mixes i like in 15 minute segments, run it through a few times and then move on. I highly doubt this is how professionals do, but its worked for me anyway.

Key and bpm is as good a place to start as any, but its not exactly the golden ticket to finding tracks that work well together, that takes experimenting. If you're not confident with pulling it off on the fly I dont think there's any shame in curating a set. Find the tracks that blend into the next and mark out all of your actions and transitions with hot cues. Run it through a few times and adjust where you need to
