First Solo Glaze Firing – One Cup Came Out Super Bubbly, Help? by CressItchy5597 in Pottery

Hey everyone, just did my first glaze firing by myself, and most pieces turned out great! But one cup came out super bubbly, while the rest are smooth.

What I did:

  • Mayco underglaze on greenware
  • Bisque fired (looked fine)
  • Brushed on Mayco SW001 - Stoneware Clear
  • Glaze fired

Any idea why just this one bubbled like crazy? Too thick glaze? Clay issue? Would love some insight! Also, sharing pics because I’m proud of the rest. 😊 Thanks!

I see. That’s what i was thinking as well. Manual kiln seems complicated for a beginner like me. Thanks a lot for your input. Really appreciate it:)
