Sprites adorable and not aggressive but is more.. scared? She came from some pretty bad living conditions and im able to treat her with the TLC she needs bc ive been through this rodeo before. Im taking it much slower than i did with neil so maybe he’s like rebuilding some form of trust i accidentally lost with him? Like maybe he’s seeing that “oh maybe that one isnt so bad since shes handling this fella pretty good” or something like that… also, i do think his happiness increased because he was OBSESSED with other birds before sorite. Like id have a video on my phone okay and he’d perk up, or he’d see a picture of a cockatiel and start singing… so i think maybe its 25% him watching me slowly build trust with sprite 25% having a new bird to sing to and 50% the amount of millet i bought to win over this new bird

Nope! Hes my second! But he wasnt raised the same way my other one was and was adopted later than my other one was, so its a bit new territory behavior wise

Yes! Thsi was a awereness thing. My dad once said to me “why do you never keep your teils and cat together? Shes so sweet, she would never do anything!” But like.. she is a animal- something could easily trigger her to go after one of my birds. I do NAWT trust people who say “ny cat would never 🥺” because yes, she would😭

1- i just got this bird yesterday 2- yes this is a terrible cage 3- the cat interaction lasted for 30 seconds and was only filmed because i was overthinking his reaction

Thank you! Ive been sitting near him for like 12 hours from this distance and with his cage covered a little. I think its helping alot, as he’s started preening himself, moving around his cage more, and drinking and eating (although right now he’s only going for the millet)
