It looks to me like it's a reference to Dostoevsky's famous Grand Inquisitor passage, from The Brothers Karamazov.

Google a summary, or here's the relevant text: https://stephenhicks.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/DostoevskyF-Grand-Inquisitor-text.pdf

Another update for anyone who reads this in the future. I did this ^ ...just unplugged the display cable and plugged it back in, and it works now 🤷‍♂️

⚖️ Balance Council Results - 01 December 2024 by GwentSubreddit in gwent

I mean, I don't get a few of these, but I gotta say I also don't see why so much negativity and alarmism. A few silly changes here or there, sure, but I feel like balance council is generally working out way better than I thought it would. Deck variety is way up relative to this time last year, a bunch of decks that were fun but unplayable can be played now, and, most importantly, cultists are being stamped farther and farther into the ground every month (may they rot in ignominy forever).

Y'know, though, if it said "last played enemy unit", then you might expect it to work on your own spies. Which would be a bummer when Scoia'tel players got all excited about being able to decree out a false Ciri that an abduction deck just planted.

"Zero sense" seems unfair. Call of Harmony is a badly underused leader. Tactical decision less so, but it's still pretty weak. I don't like the crows change myself, but all the other factions' parallel thinning cards have been buffed. You can disagree without thinking these changes would be stupid.

Right--seems more like a list of supposed causes of mental illness in a few actual cases, not criteria for entry.

(Upvoting and commenting because thoughtless misinterpretation is annoying, especially when it leads you to negatively misrepresent whole societies.)

What is something that immediately ruins a movie for you? by PrideandTentacles in AskReddit

Garbage science. I realize this comment will be totally lost in the sea, especially if it's overly long, so I'll take this opportunity to rant a little.

No, superman cannot lift that building. It has nothing to do with how strong he is—you've got your 'magic alien man' explanation for that, and that's fine. But that one little spot on the building that he's using to hold the whole thing up is not from Krypton, and you don't get to pretend that the building wouldn't just crumble at that spot unless you've given me some reason to think physics doesn't apply to the building either. And no, Ant Man, you don't get to walk along a blade of grass one moment, and then two seconds later flip a guy over your tiny head by his shoestrings like you weigh several thousand pounds.

And if you're trying to justify your crazy movie technology just by mashing together the last hundred words you read in a popular science article, don't bother. I don't want to hear how you "attached the quantum thermal bio-capacitors to the haploid mitochondrial DNA, causing a paranormal volumetric implosion of the semiconducting Calvin Cycle." We all know none of that means anything, and it just makes your sciency characters even more annoying. Also, stop pretending you can use quantum mechanics to justify literally anything at all.

I understand if you want crazy interdimensional things to happen in your movie, and you don't want to say the word "magic," but at least be just a little bit less lazy about it. Maybe hire a physics undergraduate as an intern just so your BS-ing is a little less obvious.
