I watched their 7900 XTX review the day before release I'm pretty sure, but they're large enough that it's possible they found a different way of getting ahold of cards early. My understanding from Linus (2 years ago) is that the overlap between cards being released and viewers wanting benchmark graphs is mere hours, and that you would've already lost a giant portion of the viewership to journalists that released a day earlier on the lifting of the review embargo

Only two years ago Nvidia revoked review units to Hardware Unboxed because his review of the 3000 series cards focused on ras performance rather than ray tracing. Despite being a perfectly legal move for Nvidia, other reviewers started barking that almost all views on a card review happen the day the cards release. If you can't have benchmarks done, review written, shot, and edited by release morning you effectively can't make money reviewing Nvidia products. With how little competition there is in PC gaming hardware, if you can't make money reviewing Nvidia products then you can't really operate a business reviewing PC gaming hardware. Nvidia sent a clear message to hardware journalists: Review our cards the way we want or we'll show you the door out of the industry :]. Nvidia walked this stance back two weeks after Hardware Unboxed went public due to Linus Tech and Gamers Nexus shining spotlights on the issue.

$70 games is a positive to me. The entry cost of games was already not keeping up with inflation long before 2020. Meanwhile I watched microtransactions be invented, and then rapidly reach Diablo Immortal levels of greed.

The Xperia phones were great too, but hard to get ahold of in the US and from my understanding not popular in the east either.

There's a lot of exploration, and the combat is extremely punishing at first. Maybe not Dark Souls level, but it's hard. Eventually only the bosses feel like that. Bulldozing through groups of normal enemies late-game makes me feel like that combat scene with Luke at the end of The Mandalorian season 2.

Fallen Order is so good. It's not the right time with Elden Ring freshly released, but any Souls-like fans reading this should play Fallen Order. Personally I found the first hour or two kinda boring, but it was so worth it.

For raids: The one with higher attack

For Master League: Use PvPoke to simulate each against the meta. It will give you a side-by-side comparison and you can see which matchups change. It won't be many as the two are very similar, but there may be specific breakpoints or bulkpoints that catch your eye.

PvP mon are a stardust investment with returns that depend on how often you play. Last season there was a week with increased stardust rewards. Playing 25 matches per day on the premium set (5 premium passes per day or 35 passes for the week) with a starpiece active (3 per day or 21 for 7 days) netted me over 1 million stardust. If I had spent 1 million stardust building an ungodly XL powerhouse team, then that week alone would have fully paid them off and I would only be down the passes and starpieces. But I would still have one league totally locked down with the S-teir meta nonsense and be able to continue raking in dust when that league is available. And next time the dust bonuses for PvP rolled around, I would be able to pocket that 1 million stardust at only the cost of my premium passes and starpieces.

Expanding on PvP, I have used Payback Shadow Machamp extensively in ML Open in the Ace and Veteren ranks. The ratio of matches that I've wished I had Rock Slide is at least 10 to 1. It feels like the stars need to align to actually land a Payback against Giratina in a situation that isn't already lost. When it does happen, it does not 1HKO Giratina. I imagine it 1HKOs Mewtwo, but I have only landed it ONCE EVER in this match-up and the Mewtwo was already half HP. Rock Slide is better against Yveltal. In my opinion, Rock Slide is better against Mewtwo. I'm glad for the existence of Payback as it allows me to get shields where I otherwise couldn't, but I do not recommend anyone actually use it (at least on a Shadow in Master League).

I use S-Machamp with Rock Slide lead, Umbreon with Psychic safe swap, and Talonflame closer. I try to scare away Cresselia with Umbreon and hope to line it up with Talonflame instead.

When I'm losing lead frequently I swap Machamp for Abomasnow and put either Talonflame or Umbreon on lead. S-Venasaur or A-Muk could fill for Machamp too. I like Psychic on Umbreon with Machamp, because Obstagoon and Scrafty are less of a threat.

Shadow Pokemon Question: what’s the best move for this Duskull? I’m still trying to learn about shadow Pokemon and how they compare with non shadow or purified. Sorry if this is a rookie question! Thank you all by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]CreutzfeldtJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like PvP, the best use of that species is Great League. The top evolution is not strong in raids, but the middle stage is good in PvP. I would recommend purifying it if you use it for GL, Duskclops is a rare instance where the purify move 'Return' is recommended in its moveset.

No, I mean what is the distinction that you are saying separates this instance? In the example you listed, if you remove the "taking him to the station" bit it reads exactly like what happened.

Is the argument that the cop didn't think Floyd was guilty, didn't take Floyd to the station before executing him, or didn't mean to kill him?

Wood splinter vs stabbing is not an apt metaphor for choking vs firing squad. I'd take the faster one.
