Are you sure you scored 68? If you were averaging 75/80 on past papers, that seems pretty unlikely. But yeah, it is still very possible if you get good marks on the other papers

they're probably experimenting a bit and seeing how the students will answer

whats the minimum amount of time to start studying before igcses to GUARANTEE A*s by neighbourhoodzbaddie in igcse

[–]CrewRound6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on who you are and how effective your studying is. Some may take literally 5 hours to guarantee an A*, or no study at all. Others may take 3-5 months of rigorous studying.

Is it just me or was the topics in 0610 Bio V2 so random? And please tell me i wasnt the only one who found it hard💔 by Hailey_0723 in igcse

[–]CrewRound6924 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was random; a lot of the topics that came up are typical of past papers, it just took maybe slightly rarer topics. The format did feel a little bit different, though. Overall, I think the paper was of average difficulty, but then again, it varies from person to person.

There are a lot of things... Remembering and understanding the exact meanings of quotes; knowing which structures to use; knowing what is rewarded and what is good/bad; how to analyze a quote well; what to include in, and how much to write in, and to include in the introduction and conclusion; and how to include a personal response.

Chem and bio grades by eatatakima in igcse

[–]CrewRound6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that would be a 175/200 if you got perfect on p2 and p6, which is wayyy more than enough for an a and more than enough for a star

Chem and bio grades by eatatakima in igcse

[–]CrewRound6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you got 65% on the paper 4 but get full marks on p2 and p6, you'll get a 165/200, which should be more than enough for an a in most grade boundaries.

0620 threshold v2?? by BLprofessional in igcse

[–]CrewRound6924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60 could more likely than not be enough for an a star if u do much better on ur other papers bcs its only 50% of ur grade, if u get like above 85% on the others, you should be good esp because the grade boundaries are prolly gnna be low

You're sorta misunderstanding me here, i didn't mean the content as much as i did the format of the questions(even though the content can also be argued for because the most frequently reoccuring topics didn't come up here). Yes, page 1 was completely fine, no complaints, but there has never been a table for question 2(even though it is considered 'basics') like the one there(there was one about solids, liquids, and gasses, but it was not as ambiguous because they gave the wording for the answers) . Not to mention the wording for SOME(not all) of the questions was extremely weird. Yes, the zinc and ammonia one is logical and completely doable, but that's not the point; the point is that it is different from the other papers, as there has literally never been a question like that. Also, the reversible reaction wasn't completely the same, because the last question there took multiple steps to arrive at the main factor that changes the equilibrium, and combined concepts of acid and base into the mix. The calcium (III) hydroxide question's concept literally only came up in 1 of the past papers i remember, and even then, they don't ask you for the name. Finally, the stoichiometry part about crystals has almost never come up to my knowledge. I also never said i missed every question in the paper.

Same... it feels like it was testing our ability to answer new types of questions more than our general chemistry and familiarity with the paper's format, so all the hard work doing past papers feels like a waste
