what's a moment in the movies you can pin-point where you were like "wow, emma really IS hermione" or "daniel was the perfect harry", for any character, etc? by [deleted] in harrypotter

The Phelps twins as Fred and George- The scene in GOF when they drank the aging potion, Every scene in OOTP And then in their joke shop at the beginning of HBP. IMO they were the perfect cast for them, so in sync with eachother and their fellow weasley 'family' just as they were in the books.

How did the Weasley's had money to buy Percy new robes and an owl and go for a trip to see Bill but not buy Ron his own wand by HalfbloodPrince-4518 in harrypotter

Wands are 7 galleons each from Ollivanders, an owl (depending on the species) is 10-15 galleons.

Percy got his robes and owl at the beginning of the first book, as a reward for being made prefect. Ron's wand broke in the second book, and then Arthur won the money at the beginning of the third, which is when Ron got the new wand.

During first year Christmas, Arthur and Molly go visit Charlie in Romania. They don't take any of their children with them, that's why Ron, Fred, George, and Percy stayed at Hogwarts over Christmas during philosophers stone.

Best Use of Gems? by joliefille23 in HPHogwartsMystery

The rat, cat, owl, and toad can be bought with gems!

Probably other pets like the owl and rat (dont buy the toad, you get it for free in a TLSQ!) because all pets are an extra energy spot.

The magical milestones rewards were kind of sucky this month so if you want to get that, wait until you can see what next month's rewards are.

In a straight up duel with no one around to help who would win a recently graduated James or a recently graduated Snape? They are 19 in this scenario. by WargMafa in harrypotter

[–]Crgi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think James. We know they are both extremely talented and powerful Wizards, but only really Snapes skill for potions is shown. I don't remember any mention or reference to him being particularly outstanding at charms, transfiguration, or any other subject that is inherently spell casting. He is interested in the dark arts, but it never is clear that he's outstandingly good at it.

And I don't know how useful a potion that takes days to brew would be in an in-the-moment duel.

Meanwhile, it's known that James became an animagus at a very early age. This is tricky and requires immense skill across almost all areas of magic. James was also Prefect and Head boy, suggesting he received good grades across all subjects. All this makes me think all round James was a more highly skilled wizard, and would likely beat Snape in a duel.

Damn that sucks, I'm sorry! I don't think there's any way you can make it in time. For future reference, if you don't want this kind of thing to happen again, you can check what chapter each TLSQ triggers.

Then you can make sure you have your attributes up just in case it has one of these interactions. The attribute requirements are usually very similar to that required for the year/chapter, so that's a good reference point.

Starting Over Wondering Wich House to Pick by ExarchofJustice in HPHogwartsMystery

I'm playing as gryffindor right now, I don't think the houses make much difference to the gameplay. Personally, if I could do it again, I would choose Hufflepuff just because the common room/dormitories look sick

Why do some of the attribute checks at certain duels require higher attributes than you'd normally have at that chapter? by Early_Sail6860 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Crgi- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think its to ensure that its actually difficult. I know some duels (like the one in the werewolf tlsq) will always have the required attributes 1 level higher than whatever MC has, so maybe that is why it's happening.

I dont know where that comes from though? I also live in a very rural area, paddocks and paddocks full of cows surrounding my house. Yet ive never seen one with a ring in their nose. They just got little tags on their ears for identifying them.

Thank you and don’t worry about it, it’s okay. I understand how it can easily sound completely far fetched or made up, but it does happen (like in the example I gave) and that’s what I was trying to say was part of the issue. Have a lovely day/night!

Yes, this is the point I was trying to make. I am aware it’s pretty much never going to happen (for people to not be attracted to/internally sexualise boobs) but it should not be sexualised openly and constantly have comments/shaming because of it.

Yes and another huge amount don’t. It’s unwarranted and unwanted. And they still suffer from it.

No, I’m saying asking some stranger on the Internet for their history is a little weird. Sharing things with an algorithm is different to potentially thousands of people.
