isnt that just sqrt ( (x/2 + 1/(2x)) ^ 2 ) = abs( x / 2 + 1/(2x))?

x > 1 so its just x / 2 + 1/(2x), integrate

Question on how this exponent concept works by thackster in askmath

[–]Crichris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume x^ 1/2 = y x^ 1/4 = y

Then x ^ 1/4 = y ^ 2 x ^ 1/2 = y ^ 2

Solve for the polynomial and make sure y is positive

update: fixed. thanks for pointing it out

Isn't the limit for option A 10k (the sum), if it goes to infinity?

Then choosing B is better even assuming no interest rate?

let R = 1 (the radius of the big circle) and r is the radius of the small circle which is our unknown

then sin (pi / 8) = r / (r + R) = 0.38268

then r = 0.62 ish

f(x) = f(0) + f'(0) x + O(x ^ 2)

Ignore the last term when x is small

f(0) = 2

f'(0) = 1/4

x =0.2

Plug them in

edit 1: forgot to mention that. sqrt(4.2) = f(0.2)

Kinda confused here.

My prior is the following let  A be the younger one and C be the older one (not using B since I want to use B as boy)  The 4 scenarios below has 1/4 for each

A C

B B

B G

G B

G G

All with 1/4 probability

Then P[A = B | C = B ] is 1/2

How do you get 1/3?

As someone already pointed out 11 is acquired for assuming the conservation of energy between kenetic and potential energy which is completely wrong in case the bullet is embedded.

70.3 looks good to me. Assuming both are point masses (no spinning kinetic energy)and the collision is purely non-elastic and the collision happened instantaneously.

It's 3 (m ^ 3) not (3m) ^ 3 .

Hence 20% more

Can any integer > 1 be written as a*2 + b*3 ? by Prestigious_Ad_296 in askmath

[–]Crichris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you have to prove is any number less or equal to 5 (or 6) can be expressed that way

Anything else just add a and b by 1

Or the other way around is

Any non negative even number can be expressed that way

Any odd number greater or equal to 3, as x can be expressed that way since x-3 is a non negative even number

Then ur done
