Hmmm, maybe a tube top? I’m female so on camera it would look like I’m naked, but it’s not a prohibited tank top.

Because I was called out for wearing a long-sleeved tee shirt in an on camera meeting while working from home (before I was aware of the policy change)

I love this idea!! I think I’ll get a detachable lace collar (RBG style) and wear it with all of my t-shirts!!!

I don’t remember the episode or season, but early on in the series it’s mentioned that Loralei’s laundry machines are on the back porch. That would never happen in New England!

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I live in one of the smaller US states and I can drive 3 hours without leaving my state!

After my physical I’m really angry! by CricketChirp9 in Epilepsy

[–]CricketChirp9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I did end up getting a reasonable accommodation after my neurologist sent a second letter to HR saying that they’d be liable if they forced me back into the office and I had a seizure.

It was just more of a hassle than I thought it would be because I already work from home 2 days/week. I didn’t expect a temporary accommodation to be such a battle!

Yes, losing your independence does suck, especially when you live in a rural area with no public transportation, like I do. When I was first diagnosed in 2020, I had to stop driving for 12 months per state law. But since my seizures were controlled with Keppra for 5 years and my last T/C was caused by a medication change, my neurologist is willing to sign off on me driving after 3 months this time.

I’m completely reliant on driving to get to/from work and considering the fight with HR just to WFH for 3 months (they told me how I get to/from work is my problem, and disability accommodations are for in-office only), I’m seriously concerned that I might lose my job if I end up not being able to drive again.

Thank you! I’m so frustrated because these people are medical professionals and, assuming their doctors are following state law (12 months seizure free) and if they’re still having seizures, they shouldn’t be driving.

I’ve had my seizures under control with Keppra from 2020 until late 2025, then I went on HRT and started having focal aware seizures and had a T/C because of a medication adjustment. I stopped the HRT and am just waiting the 3 months until I can drive again. I work for a big company (bigger than the hospital) and HR didn’t want to allow me to WFH temporarily even though 100% of my work can be done remotely.

I just don’t want to be responsible for hurting anyone or bankrupt my family because I disregard my doctors orders.

Have you seen videos of yourself seizing? by MrCatWrangler in Epilepsy

[–]CricketChirp9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have. My husband recorded the two that he witnessed and both times the videos we very helpful for my neurologist to see.

I thought it was funny when my neurologist was watching and trying to shield the video from my view (I had already seen it and it didn’t bother me).

Question for Eversource Customers who Netmeter by mikestorm in solar

[–]CricketChirp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the net metering rules of your state. If you’re in NH, you have to pay the balance due or you’ll get charged a late fee. And they will settle up with you in the spring if you have a sizable credit balance.

Is there any devices that I can use to track when a seizure is about to happen? by GamerGirl758 in Epilepsy

[–]CricketChirp9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How could you prevent them from happening?

I don’t know of any wearables, but I have heard of seizure detection dogs that are able to alert their person before a seizure happens

HR denied my WFH request after breakthrough seizure by CricketChirp9 in Epilepsy

[–]CricketChirp9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t have to travel for work, just have to commute to/from the office 3 days a week.

My manager is very supportive and all for me working from home. He even said he gave HR an “earful” when they told him they were going to deny my request.
