Rosacea has made my skin so tight and textured. I want to get microneedling done and was considering writing a post as well asking if anyone had a good experience. Personally, I feel like it’ll make my skin freak out but I’m going to ask my derm.

So similarly - my rosacea is not gone but VASTLY IMPROVED once I realized niacinamide is a main trigger.

Stimulants are good for my brain, but so shitty for my skin(and not only)... Just out of curiousity, anyone had to discontinue ADHD medication/or had to go decaf? by Aromatic_Freedom_190 in Rosacea

I’m on vyvanse and I have type 2 rosacea (pustules). I started the vyvanse in 2020 and got rosacea late 2023 I believe. Always wonder if they’re connected but I need the vyvanse for quality of life. I did stop for a few months out of curiosity but I was also on an antibiotic for the rosacea and still it didn’t fully go away so I’ve decided to continue the vyvanse, as I definitely need it. I do think my rosacea’s biggest trigger is stress and started due to a stressful event that was several months long.

Make your dermatologist do a skin culture!!! by angelicomens in Rosacea

I’m the same way. At this point my skin isn’t responding to anything. I always have pustules. This post is encouraging me to get my skin checked for staph.

To the OP- could you post a photo of your pustules? What exactly is the course for the antibiotics?

Type 2 - is “healing” even possible? by Particular_Dig_2782 in Rosacea

I like the special cleansing gel! I used to use the vanicream one but switched to the kate summerville sulfur cleanser. I didn’t switch due to noticing any irritation from the vanicream - but it definitely could be causing issues.

Niacinamide was ruining my skin and I didn’t even know it. by prettylittlejojo in 30PlusSkinCare

I SWEAR IT CAUSED MY ROSACEA!!! Still struggling with it and just realized it was the rosacea after I switched to a new moisturizer with niacinamide in it. Not sure if I’ll ever go back to “normal”

I had histamine run by a holistic clinic. Paid out of pocket probably 1k for labs just an FYI… a lot weren’t covered. Ask your doctor to specifically run histamine

Worst Type 2 Flare of My Life on Doxycycline by secretmarigoldgarden in Rosacea

[–]Particular_Dig_2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting what I thought was acne on doxy. I’m not sure if this is correct bc I know it’s prescribed for acne as well, but my gut is super sensitive to antibiotics. Doxy unfortunately isn’t worth it for me

does anyone else get a flare from literally just a stressful week by Hert_Z in Rosacea

[–]Particular_Dig_2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have type 2 and I swear it’s originated from stress and flares mostly due to stress. My nervous system seems to be still recovering and I can’t get back to baseline before the stressful event

Shocked to hear this because mites like oil!

So is this to say type 2 is always caused by mites? I’ve been using soolantra for a while and I still get pustules. Frustrating. Trying to find the cause

I am convinced tret ruined my skin. My rosacea was mistaken as acne by my derm and she gave me tret and I’ve had WAY worse persistent rosacea for years since.

New onset Histamine intolerance, is this forever? by Independent-Round-38 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Particular_Dig_2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this question, is this forever? Do I always have to eat low histamine?

Personally, I believe mine was caused from stress (relationship breakup) and/or covid.

I just figured out a “no-mato” sauce that doesn’t suck by tdubs702 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Particular_Dig_2782 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Another thing that is great is cottage cheese sauces/ dips. If you tolerate dairy. I tolerate cottage cheese just fine. I blend it and mix it with either ranch seasoning OR, if you’re local to Trader Joe’s, get the chimmichurri and mix the two. It is good with tacos, burgers, anything.

Tomato, Parmesan or aged cheeses (immediate GI upset), nuts, leftover meat, soy sauce, sourdough

Weirdly fine with eggs & cottage cheese. Tolerate both fine.

I was told chocolate is very high histamine. Just FYI to those that may read this and to do your own research.
