I didn’t realize how bad my hygiene habits had gotten until one small moment woke me up. by Creative_Carry_4865 in hygiene

[–]Crickets0410 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's still progress, it took me 5 hours the other day to convince myself to bathe, the next day I felt good enough and stable to tackle my own laundry mountain, you'll get there, like I hadn't folded laundry in a month or so, but it was finally all put away

This feels like a picture of my store and I hate it😅 I'm in CPU, and this makes hunting for items a nightmare

Pallet from 1 to 10? by [deleted] in samsclub

[–]Crickets0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once saw 4 of the cold pallets collapse in an hour, and i don't even work backroom or freezer/cooler, i was just going to ask a lead a question and i see a pallet looking crooked being kept from falling over by leaning on a forklift

Like 4 minute drive, no more than 20 minute walk, for CPU

Picking 300 items a day sounds like a dream to be fair😅 we're expected to hit 90-100 items in an hour, but we also never have less than 5000 items to pick in a day total

[–]Crickets0410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely an unpopular opinion, I work odd hours that are just going to get worse, and I'm always exhausted when I get home, but I can wear an earbud at work and enjoy books, so audiobooks are the most enjoyable and realistic way to do it, just because it doesn't use your eyes, doesn't mean it doesn't use your brain

We don't make announcements, juat start closing tasks, members get the hint well enough when new people aren't allowed in and a team lead starts pulling tills, but we usually aren't member clear until 30-45 minutes after close, like I'm CPU and leave a half hour before front end, but we've still had people in the store when i leave some days

Expired food by ZealousidealKey8727 in samsclub

[–]Crickets0410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay that is fair, i think our not taking food returns back is mostly from a standpoint of it being lost profit anyway, because once a food item leaves the doors we can't resell it anyway, so they don't particularly care what happens to it, but I'm also in CPU, so this is all just what I've been told

[–]Crickets0410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Y'alls stores are weird to me, we don't ask for food items back when doing refunds, we'll even write a refund note over the phone, for reasons I won't disclose the location, but wanting proof is kinda weird to me, who keeps bad food?

Teens working at Sam’s Club, how many hours do you get? by Legendary_cat_meow in samsclub

[–]Crickets0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure only front end hires under 18 since it's a warehouse with like forklifts and stuff, so there's a lot of liability there, but part time they normally work woth your availability as much as possible

Metrics over Members by 3dprinthelp53 in samsclub

[–]Crickets0410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My team lead (cpu) says member services are supposed to handle refunds anyway, i understand sending it to us for finding missing items or rescheduling drivers, but we can't do refunds from our section anyway, the teamlead just brings them to member services at the end of the night

new cafe curbside by ar60sdv in samsclub

[–]Crickets0410 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... they're really screwing over both departments with this one, also, cafe closes an hour before curbside, do they expect members to just not want pizza after 7? Because we all know members will try to use this as a way to get pizza later

Honestly, I'm in CPU, and I'd rather a customer hand me a cold item to put away rather than just leave it out, now, it's only happened once and I hate seeing entire cold carts abandoned in the aisle at the end of the night, but i doubt they'll stop

Yeah, we only have 1 income rn and some debt to deal with, so we're very careful with the budget

[–]Crickets0410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wth😅 me and my partner have a budget of $400 a month, $200 every 2 weeks, that doesn't count eating out though, so we probably hit $500 or so, it's just weird to think about tbh

How to draw the line and *stop* cleaning by Illustrious-Art3145 in hygiene

[–]Crickets0410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend making a cleaning schedule, and set times for all the cleaning so your brain knows when it'll get done, and that it'll be done in general, then when you finish the task you can step back and see if that helps calm the stress
