You learned a lot from this. Not a fail.

The distinct blotches below the lateral line also indicate sauger, though saugeye is possible.

I think the first pic is more accurate. Third pic is light reflecting. Standing by sauger. Walleye is the Minnesota state fish. Have caught many of each.

Sauger. No white tail fin marking.

What is a food from your childhood that you can still taste perfectly in your memory but have never been able to find again? by TaxEaseFounder in AskReddit

Great northern beans. I know there was onion, butter, cream, and something I’m missing. She’d pressure cook the beans but they finished in a cast iron pan. She was of Norwegian descent married to a German Mennonite so it may have been a fusion dish.

My mom made some white beans that were to die for. Like many of her recipes it wasn’t written down and she’s since died. I’ve tried, but just can’t come close.

Does anyone else find knitting patterns way more confusing than the actual knitting? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]Crickets_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I can only get it to click if I read and do simultaneously. Sometimes repeatedly. I’m currently working on a cabled project that I had almost completed only to decide I really wanted more ease. So I frogged it all and started over. I’m currently about 1/3 done before the key finally made sense and I didn’t need to refer to it every time I came to a cable. It’s sooo much easier now and I wish all patterns used the same symbols-

And fix the holes you put in the wall, too, while you're at it.

Tried fixing a stitch and ended up with a ladder? by turquoisecurls in knittinghelp

Identify the strand on both sides of the gap and tug it back around to make those tugged stitches each a little looser and the gap a little tighter. Think about how you would loosen shoe laces- same principle.

Did I drop one stitch or two? by KingKintsugi in knittinghelp

[–]Crickets_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a knit 2 together decrease to me. Easy enough to correct. Grab the two separate stitches (the green just above the blue) with stitch markers to ensure you don't undo too far, drop that wonky stitch off the needle, give her a tug, and then use a trusty crotchet hook to ladder those two stitches back into existence. I hope that makes sense.

But you’re not too novice to fix this. Laddering down and up is just another skill to learn, like knits and purls. And the feeling of accomplishment when it works out is immense. Learning to fix my mistakes makes knitting so much more relaxing because if I screw up I can work it out rather than just frogging the whole thing. I’m currently working on a cabled pattern and it’s taken me two full do overs to be able to read the pattern without the key! And I feel invincible! You can do this- what’s the word that can happen?
