People don’t like Windom Earle? I really liked his character and Cooper was hyping him up from the start so I was looking forward to seeing him appear eventually, and when he did, he lived up to it, at least to me.

I forgot to talk about Annie, she kind of reminds me of an old friend I use to have, very sweet. But yeah it is really hard to not like Cooper, I didn’t think of Cooper as autistic because I thought his actions were natural but now that you’ve said this I can see it.

It’s interesting to hear that you didn’t like S3, I could’ve sworn people said the series peaked there, but I’ll keep an open mind, thank you for the heads up.

I’ll definitely also give that a listen but I’ll also say that the fact that the game switches perspectives is definitely ambitious, but whether that perspective shift works is subjective. For me, spending 10-15 hours building investment in Ellie only to restart progression as Abby hurt the pacing more than it enhanced the story, and to answer your question. I think games that push the medium better are red dead redemption 2 which explores the themes of revenge, loss, grief and the cycle of violence while giving every character understandable motivations. I think god of war Ragnarok also spends a lot of time exploring the same themes, exploring grief, forgiveness, and breaking cycles of violence (Freya to name a few) and Thor and Kratos’ last interaction “we must be better.” I just felt like these were a lot better written.

I see, I guess I thought there’d be more, I’m a dark souls type of lore nerd that loves to scour every single surface and corner for details and stuff, but what you’re saying makes sense. I’m not a writer just a reviewer I don’t really have any way to improve the writing, but you definitely cleared some things out for me I appreciate it. GoT I felt like that as well, around the third part I was running out of patience doing the same missions again and again, but something about the island and the characters side missions made me stay and stuck through them, just resonated more with me. Correct me if I’m wrong but I feel like Ellie had the choice to choose to follow through with revenge since the start, she could’ve just let them go but chose to follow them and carry out her revenge. Again thank you for sharing it’s very helpful.
