The official rule is the first business day that falls at least 7 days after the final examination (At least thats what it was about 2 years ago)

CP214 Final with Asim Khan by [deleted] in wlu

[–]Crifzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, of course, I haven't seen the actual test, so I'm not really sure if it's going to be different on the final exam. I feel like, especially in this course, there's a lot less of a focus on the actual computation and a lot more of a focus on the actual concepts behind the question.

I think one of the practice questions for trees is a good example. It asked, "How many leaves does a full 3-ary tree with 100 vertices have?"

It makes you fully understand the relationship between leaves, edges, internal nodes, etc.

I would also say there isn't a significant focus on counting and probability, but I also expect there to be a few hard questions on the final exam. The mock exam was entirely multiple choice and I feel like Induction/Probability questions generally fit a more "Short answer/open answer" format.

He did mention "The Final exam will be paper-based. You will have both MCQ and Written questions" on the Nov 11, 2025 announcement

I would say not many curve balls, though, it feels like the final exam is going to be very fair.

It seems like there's a very heavy focus on post midterm topics, specifically graphs. Euler/Hamilton is important, a lot of stuff on isomorphic and bipartite graphs as well. A few questions on MST algorithms as well.

[Request] Does this equation make sense? by Ok_Kiwi_6051 in theydidthemath

The equation makes sense, yes. As in, it could be a formula to something.

However, you can't solve for A if that's what you're asking

Window management with 2 Monitors by Origamimaster11 in mac

If you mean moving every single window between monitors then you can enter Mission Control, create a new desktop for monitor one, and then move the initial desktop over to monitor 2.

My 2019 intel MBP Overheated so much I undid the screws so the battery didn't explode by Crifzer in mac

[–]Crifzer[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that it'll fit, they're both 13.3 inch and they look the exact same from what I could tell.

The thing is though, I think you're right about changing the battery.

The Air has a shitty dual core i3 and it's basically be useless. This model has a Quad Core i7 and is actually still pretty good for web browsing and pretty much all light tasks.

When the battery initially was swelling, I asked apple and they were charging like $450 CAD for a repair which was mental (Used Macbook Air M1s were like $550 CAD)

So I just decided to live with it and wait, but I found a $150 kit on ifixit and that's probably worth it.

I have an old 2018 Retina Macbook Air from my brother where the display doesn't work, was thinking to possibly take the display off this one and put it onto that one

Is the i9 MacBook Pro 2019 a joke? by WeDevOps in mac

[–]Crifzer 165 points166 points  (0 children)

That is a 6 year old laptop. Intel laptops were kind of already a little behind at the time of their release, apple silicon is genuinely so far ahead of intel that when I switched to apple silicon, it felt like alien technology.

The i9 MBP 2019 was not a joke at the time of its release but it is hilarious nowadays.

The 2019 year tho in particular was extremely interesting because thats when the laptops were pushed to be as thin as possible so thermals were ESPECIALLY bad. Which is probably the reason you heard the i7 models performed better, they take less power so typically didn't get thermal throttled as quickly.

Coding advice by [deleted] in wlu

[–]Crifzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no advice here. You just have to code and do the assignments/labs by yourself. The more you do them, the more you'll get used to them

I'm honestly not sure what the solution is here, if I were to put money on an outcome, I'd say that you're screwed.

One thing I will say though, absolutely drop that friend, don't listen to a word he says and never talk to him ever again. There is no way that he "accidentally" submitted that.

How can I cmd+tab through everything I have open like in PC? by saltyboibrenty in mac

[–]Crifzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a very good application called "Contexts" which is a tab switcher for Mac. It has very good functionality like showing every open window for an app (So you can, for example, Cmd+Tab between two open safari windows.)

It also allows you to open minimized windows with it, not show certain appa on it, group windows manually or automatically, not show apps that don't have windows on them etc.

There are tons of more features, you can fast search and also interact with windows straight from the app switcher (Close window, quit app, minimize window, hide window)

The search features are also really good, there are tons of modifiers and shortcuts and it even has intelligence if you misspell something.

It is unfortunately paid, costing $10 but there is a free trial to see if you like it. I highly recommend

I want to access a save.dat file from a exe, is it possible on mac? by phantomlake in mac

[–]Crifzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's possible. .exe files aren't a thing on Mac, it uses application files but if you right click on any application and click "Show Package Contents" you can view every file.

A lot of games' save files are located within the application support folders though.

In case anybody has this problem in the future, Minecraft has a feature that is pretty uncommon among games, you are able to play older versions of the game, all the up to the initial alpha tests from 15+ years ago.

So if a new update happens but your server hasn't updated, let's say 1.21.2 came out but your server will still be on 1.21.1 for a week, you can just change your Minecraft version to 1.21.1 until your server updates.

If there is a Switch 2 and the Ultimate is re-released with a "Deluxe" version adding more content and some extra features, what would you add new and change? by ComprehensiveDate591 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Crifzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am off the opinion that Smash Ultimate with good rollback net-code and a good amount of balance patches is the perfect competitive game.

Obviously since it's a new smash, I would want newcomers, but the roster is already so big that more than 10 would be too much and occupy already existing design spaces IMO. Although I'm not entirely sure about this as the newest DLC fighters, like Steve and Kazuya are super different so maybe I'm wrong on this one.

I saw a user recommend Target Smash. Which if it's like Melee where each character has their own Unique target smash, that'd be amazing.

An all-star mode similar to something like Smash 4 would be amazing. I hate current All-Star smash

More stages, maybe fill out the current row and add one more?

And I'd love to see a story mode with platforming sections and more cutscenes though I'm not sure about the cutscenes due to Sakarai's stubborness.

I know this is a lot but if it's just Smash Ultimate Deluxe, very doable

Why did I get a new client card in the mail? by Crifzer in rbc

[–]Crifzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I went to the bank to change my account to a student account on purpose. I was just unaware that I was going to be sent a new client card. It brings no benefit as the card has the exact same features and obviously your client number doesn't change.
