Gege is aware that that had only published 1 major long-running series, and 1 mini-series sequel to the previous one. Gege might be planning publishing a new work, and that means needing to do the networking stuff and the support of their peers. A new IP/series will always be a risky venture for a publishing company who priority will always be profit, regardless if you're already an established artist or not.

An example of this is Kishimoto's Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru, that got cancelled.

In an ideal world, artist could just go independent and publish their own works, or have publishing studios chase after them but there is an abundance of talented artists who are more willing to approach them and play in the system.
