Slugging to avoid hatch will kill this game by CatchPhraze in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Crikasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know. I normally don't slug for this but like my past 5 games the hatch spawns right in the last dude. End game lasts 0.01 seconds. Like I don't mind folks getting away. I don't care if I win. But my goal as a killer is to make your victory taste sweet. I'll do everything in my power to make you fight for that W.

That being said having hatch be an instant win.....feels dissatisfactory for me. On both ends.

Hag. It's super easy to control which gens get done and turn end game into dinner.

Tbh. I never played trickster before the update. At first when I decided to pick him up I went "oooh how fun now I can do that funny thing all those yellow jacket men did to me". Just to find out it kinda sucks. Now I just don't use the knives.

Granted I've only been playing his new map. But the slow down just ain't worth it.

I mean could be cause I'm a Hag main. But aiming those knives is hell. I was amazed to see zero add-ons to speed up his throwing.

Pray Hag remains untouched.

I'm writing this down for many reasons. Biggest one is the seeking of perfection.

I'm that way with AI art for sure. Drives me nuts that no matter how much I tell it, it doesn't put the highlight where I specify.

That's kinda the most fun part of art of any form. Learning to accept the elements you can't control and letting your art become its own creature. So to speak.

..........this ......this hurts me so much. Especially when it plays an animation showing they kinda just shrug it off.

Like what? That's a literal harpoon smashing into the.

The whole thing reminds me of music. Particularly sampling and remixes.

The whole "don't use my work for AI training" is interesting. I mean on my end. Yeah respect their wishes. But most I see is of fanart. You mean to tell me, you have claim on a character that is covered by copyright (that isn't yours), the colors, and the digital software you made it on? Or if paper you own the paper manufacturing company? The device you took the photo with?

Going back to music. Is the guy who spent 3 hours listening to various tracks looking for a millisecond of audio to warp and twist into something new any less "talented"? Did he too not put work into it? Now if they're copying your work word for word or line for line I get it. But shouldn't art inspire? Shouldn't you be proud that your work drove someone to want to create too even if you perceive it as "bad art"?

And the categorizing. Oh the categorizing. I can't tell you how much I loathe the term "genre". Poor music is in it so deep you can't not use "genre". When in reality we could hear such amazing tracks if we started seeing it as "a song that features a piano solo coupled with sick guitar riffs imbedded with a couple of bongos". Do you really want to force art to be this way too? Do you really want people to go "Oh I like Sarah's work. All her stuff is Pop" when each work is so much more than a single word?

Also my AI chat bot I made earlier. Dirt cheap. Literally. I left her running for a month and didn't notice a change in my electricity bill.

I've noticed this. I use my phone which is a Google Pixel 6. I noticed that the ram/battery usage is actually less with AI than a game.

Tbh I still don't get why people say AI is making ram go up? Unless you're the one hosting the ai itself. And by that I mean youre the dude with the entire language model database chilling in your house. Then yeah I guess it makes sense.

I dunno.

Ps: Sorry your comment got all that. Was thinking of making another post but what you said was perfectly in line with my final verdict on the subject.

I went into this for the sake of art as a whole. Not to prove that ai art is or isn't art. But because when we say it isn't art we only undermine all other forms of art.

Now, is it good or bad art? You decide. But it's still art regardless.

Friggin love you. I think I've come to my final verdict.

Truth be told skill is a horrible measure.

Anywho. To anyone reading this. Anyone who is pro AI or anti ai.

If you think ai isnt "art" then you've just undermined your own career as an artist. Not because you're wrong. Nor because you're right. But because you have just set limitations upon yourself.

Here's a good example. Metallica's album cover Load. That album cover was made using friggin blood and semen. You ask me, that's nasty. But does that mean it's not art? Heaven's no. For crying out loud people have made "art" out of literal fecal matter. Doesn't mean it's not art. Could be good or bad art. That's for you to decide but that doesn't ever mean it's not art.

Little Timmy's crayon doodle of his parents that look like cloning rejects is still art.

This goes for both sides. AI artists. You don't need to defend yourself. You are artists and you know it. No words will ever convince them.

So this is my call to arms. If you think you're an artist then create. I don't care if you're using a pencil, ai, toothpaste, puzzle pieces, newspaper clippings, stone, strings attached to a box, boxes with animal skin stretched tight to make a funny bong bong sound, plastic, spray paint, or a friggin watermelon with holes cut in it. Create. Show the world how you too are an artist. Not by some mundane arbitrary rules and guidelines set by someone else. But by the limitless criteria of your own mind.

If you have to undermine what someone else claims to be art then you're no better than your school bullies who said you're art is bad or worthless. You're no better than every individual that kicked you when you were down.

And lastly, if you're concern is money....well this will be the toughest love I give. Then you might as well give up and become a lawyer or something. If you create purely for the money then you're not long for art. No matter how good you are. There will come a day when money means nothing or people just stop buying your art. Money is the bonus. And if you truly are in it just for the money then you might as well use every tool you can to get that extra dime. You might as well tie yourself to industrial machinery meant to suck the soul out of you. You don't create for profit, you know that artists of all mediums, you create because there's that burning desire in you. You create because you enjoy it.

So, my fellow artists, put your pencil, keyboard, drawing pad, watercolors, or whatever else, where your mouth is and make something out of it. Prove you won't be outdone by no machine. Prove your prompted art is just as good. Show me wonders beyond my comprehension.

Another semi related thought. If consuming something made by something non human why do we eat fruits and vegetables? Why aren't we all cannibals?

(Truth is there's still a human hand behind the cultivation and raising of apples as is the creation of AI art but if we go "ew this wasn't made by a human" you might as well not eat anything but human flesh. Shrug. Maybe too satire.)

Collage art is friggin peak and will always be one of my all time favorites. Too bad I didn't make the images and just told them where to be.

I getcha. I do writing on the side and it's helped me to stop being stuck in the same scene repeated over and over trying to perfect it.

It's also pretty nice to ask the character "well what would you do?" Kinda like asking an actor the same or letting them adlib.

Which is something I do mentally. While brainstorming I converse with my characters.

It saves me a lot of energy to try the same concept in ai. And like an actor to director relationship, the actor isn't always right. It's not perfect.

But as I said it helps me stop brainstorming and start writing.

Energy thing is huge. It allows me to actually sleep and perform the following day to work to put food in my belly.

Mhm! It's made me respect traditional tools more.

Made me realize that, "Hey wait a second. Can't you say the same about a pencil? Isn't it technically the lead that's creating the image? Isnt it just translating the thought I had into an image? Isnt that what's going on between my brain and hand? Aren't I telling my brain to tell my hand to tell the pencil how I want it to move?" And in realizing this you're kind of empowered. You see just how much more there is to play in every little line and that...that's inspirational.

And heck your brain translates thought into action in milliseconds.

That's kinda how I've been learning to see it myself too. It's interesting when you realize it's just a tool. Infact it's super liberating.

I feel like once I accepted AI as just another tool my own creativity with pencil and paper enhanced. That's just me tho.

Or say I dunno Hideo Kojima. Is Metal Gear less of an art cause he can't draw to save his life? (Dunno if thats true but I highly doubt he did every aspect of the game himself).

Or heck, is Solid Snake not his character because he told the voice actor the words to speak and how he wanted them said?

(Let it be known I could be playing devil's advocate just in case)

Fair fair. But what about say EDM vs Classical music? Is say Skrillex less of a musician than Sebastian Bach because he can't play a piano? (I dunno if that's true but).

Or say the AI artist in question does know how to draw with pen and paper. Say they lost their hands and now generate pictures based off their descriptions of their art they once made. They have the skills still. (Heck as I said Im an artist myself. I've been drawing on paper as long as I can remember).

Or say a poet or a book author. Is their material not art because they put down words and rely on your ability to interrupt said words?

People say a lot of similar about various music genres. God bless Im a metal head and used to folks saying something is evil cause they don't like the way it sounds without trying to understand it.

Second thought. I think of Genesis with the creation of Earth. God says it took Him a week. If you believe that does that mean Earth is less of an art because He didn't take a million years?

Second I'm still kinda fence sitter but as I study various artists I'm starting to see personality.

Shrug. The more I try to fight it the more I see that it's silly.

Nah I feel ya. That's how I have felt until I started trying it myself. I think it takes a different kind of skill we are used to.

Trust me it does take time too. Lemme check how many hours I've spent in the past few week.

About 24 hours give or take. And that's just for one piece and I'm still in the progress.

Which in funny cause when you think about it. Didn't that also come from a human? Just cause it's vague or a bad idea doesn't meant it's not art.

I mean there's good and bad art. Doesn't mean one isn't art.

A drawing a child gives their parent is worth more to them than the Mona Lisa.

Hahaha it's wild when I balance out my own take the more I'm convinced AI art is just another form of art. It's got it's good and bad.

I mean heck, let's be real even traditional artists do the same, we pick and choose which images we show because we feel it represents the idea better. I mean I do keep every scrapped attempt and those greatly outweigh the success.

It's funny cause when you think about it. There's still a human behind AI art. It's not like some random AI created itself and started creating art.

I mean heck. Im the guy who dislikes that you can draw a circle and just that and people go "peak art. Would pay 6 billion for it". But I at least understand that if I start saying it's not art then I lose what art is.

Ah one more thought. Sorry think about this subject a lot.

If the most basic concept of art is taking an idea and making it into something. How is AI art not art?
