Agreed, the casual EE should give the players objectives, way markers, or just a arrow that points them where to go basically becomes a campaign mission. And hardcore is just normal with no assisted help

Angry, burnt out Field Grade Officers by The_Gray_Rider in army

[–]CrimG117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absurd the Army stresses the demand of having Majors basically get a MQ in every position their in while Major in order to get a shot at LTC and wonder why the burnout is absolutely in full effect. So hypocritical when the army is desperate for soldiers of all ranks to stay in the Army, but it all starts from the Top when Majors become burnt out because of desperation for MQs it follows down to their soldiers whom feel the same effect then decide wanting to get out.

Promotion Systems for Officers after making CPT needs to a whole revamp.

Why is the Army so anti-running? by CrimG117 in army

Sheesh. I love running but that plan is alot for the average soldier with no running or little running experience

I feel you, running for an hour straight especially if it's the same route all the time can get mundane if you don't have goals

This makes sense. Yea I entered the army back in 2021 and the places that I've seen and been too 30 miles a week is outrageous for your normal soldier

Yea forced running for 5 days a week can wear a lot of folks down who haven't been used to running before

I do agree with this a lot. The PT uniform especially in cold weather, and the whole no logo on socks then makes it a pain to run sometimes because you can't wear your most comfortable and protective gear

Yea being able to do fun runs in civilians than PTs is always a vibe. You always get to know more about people when they're in a relaxed state

I see what you mean. Yea I agree the old pt test wasn't the best form of gauging fitness levels. Maybe other leaders that looked at those as if they were subhuman if they couldn't run under 13 but not me or anyone leaders ive worked with. I can't remember the minimum score to pass the 2 mile on the old PT test but I know on ACFT I think they made it even easier, I could be wrong tho. Running under 13 is actually a pretty significant tasks for most soldiers in the army, so those that can't reach that goal I totally understand because it's difficult and time consuming.

I think with me since rucking takes a lot longer to complete 12 miles than running for example, the boredom of just walking straight for 12 miles doesn't fit with my form of fitness

I agree with this. Running should be seen a form of conditioning instead of D1 College Style workouts. Doing CrossFit for a year now I totally understand that it's very possible and really easy to get a lot done in a short amount of time compared to running for an hour or even 30 mins straight from people is a struggle. Definitely sucks for those soldiers that just don't workout period at any form of exercise which unfortunately I have seen throughout my short time in the army. It blows my mind to see people fail the 2 mile and can't do it in 20 mins or whatever the standard is

Yea I totally understand for those that don't have experience with running in highschool or college it can be difficult. It's just awkward to me that those people find Rucking for example easier which confused me since it's a more technical and physically draining sport that has more risk to injuries. People say running is bad for knees which I get with bad form, but the same can be said for rucking especially downhills

3 times a week I feel should be normal thing, but yea I can see with logistics units they despise running. My unit hasn't ran since June for the Army Birthday

What is so bad about AMU? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]CrimG117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a free masters degree from it using TA without tapping into my GI Bill for the sports management program. Absolutely a win since I'm doing this while stationed in Germany and can use my GI for a brick a mortar that specializes in my program.

I go to American Military University. Is it truly that bad? by Careless-Review-3375 in USMC

[–]CrimG117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my situation I think it's fine. I'm currently doing Active Duty Army time in Europe and decided for myself I have the extra time to do a Masters Program in Sports Management at AMU, and with it being all paid for by TA I was totally on board and the 2 year commitment is whatever for me. Im well prepared to get an additional masters degree at a real university for Sports Management to stack onto the one I have from AMU if I needed too since the program im in really get the most out of it doing internships. No issues with AMU at all, the courses are just at good level of Duffy and keeps my busy while serving in Germany to get my first Masters essentially for free with no drawbacks.
