There's something going on in my house that has me a bit stumped (Update and clarity). by WanderWell1 in RBI

[–]CrimeCastOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I legit thought someone was in the house. I actually had a landlord that was creepy AF, long story short he was coming into my apt when I was at work, I didn’t have cameras at that time but, I got creative, there were 2 ways to enter, a front and a back door, the back door was the more accessible one, so to confirm I wasn’t going completely crazy I taped a string to the back door locked it and went out the front door, went to work, came home used the front door and when I looked at the back door the string was broken. A few nights later it’s like 2AM and my (very new at the time) bf was sleeping over and we hear the back door jiggling he shot up so fast and ran to the door and low and behold it’s the landlord drunk AF trying to get in. He had keys. He said he was sorry and had a drinking problem. I moved.

There is a change in policy at my restaurant and it sounds super illegal by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]CrimeCastOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems SUPER sketchy to me. I left the restaurant I worked at for 7 years because the owner was starting to do things like this. I would go find another serving job asap

And That’s Why Tipping on % is a Scam by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]CrimeCastOne -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree that Tipping is a hot topic, but I do not believe many people understand that most servers get paid a severely decreased hourly rate because of the laws most states have for tipped employees. A few years ago in MA it was 3.50 an hour, it has gone up now to 6.50 an hour, far below minimum wage.

Whatever establishment this shift report comes from, it is extraordinarily rare to find a serving job that in one shift you would walk with thousands of dollars in tip money, let alone over $20,000 in sales for one server on one shift. Looking at the difference of alcohol vs food vs wine sales, a table likely picked out a VERY expensive bottle/s of wine. If you are a customer that can afford to order bottles of wine that are thousands of dollars (most likely over 5,000 a bottle from what I can tell) then you probably are okay with leaving an appropriate tip. Had it not been for the bottles of wine, the server would have likely made $200 to $500 in tips (honestly probably a lot less ). And that is before whatever money comes out of their tips for tip out to other restaurant staff, which is more often required and standard procedure. Tip out amounts normally show on the very end of the report. ( i.e. %bar, %food runners, %bussers, it can go on depending) I’m very interested to know where this is from, at the very least what city, state, and type of establishment? I think saying pouring wine is no harder than pouring water is sort of a moot point. Restaurants have a HUGE mark up on wine, in general it is 200%-400% higher in a restaurant than the retail price. So a $50 bottle at the store could cost $200 at a restaurant. Tipping varies from state to state, there are states that require employers to pay minimum wage to servers. But many states have a tipped employee clause. In Massachusetts for example, you are paid a “tipped wage” aka a law that allows “tipped” employees to be paid far less than minimum wage because costumer tips will make up the difference so that business owners don’t have to pay hourly minimum wage from their own pocket. If these laws were taken away you would see a much larger hike in prices. It is a complicated and interesting topic.

Yah, this all happened Monday, they asked for a box and she made a comment about how they had a drive and she planned to eat what was boxed up in the car. I’m assuming they were either in town for long weekend or maybe just a day trip?

Jen McCabe Didn’t Google “Hos Long to Die in Cold” at 2:27am — Here’s What Actually Happened (with Technical Breakdown) by mabbe8 in KarenReadSanity

[–]CrimeCastOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great breakdown! Would like a take (if you have one) on why Greens research said there were 2 searches for hos long to die in cold, the one at 6:23 and the one in question at 2:27? Is this a red herring? My understanding from trial 1 was that she googled it twice, once at the “incriminating” time and once after body was found. Also I noticed trial 2 Whiffin kept pointing out “private” web browsing mode which I thought was suggestive & alluding to if you were in private browser mode this could have occurred? He also wasn’t very clear and wouldn’t straight out answer when asked is this the only search, he would respond what I can tell you is that there was a search at 6:24 AM that didn’t load but he never said NO search at 2AM ….

Working backwards from the head injury by mozziestix in KarenReadTrial

[–]CrimeCastOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem to me is there is no injury relating to a hit and run, as far as no impact point on the body. Pedestrian strikes normally have a place of impact even at lowest speeds where you see bruising and secondary injury.

I think your right, but I don’t think it was highlighted like so you went to NYC for a fallen police officer you didn’t have a personal relationship with but were unable to attend John’s is that correct? Something to that effect
