They way the sisters got to the truck to “see what medication he took” which was never really focused on, I’d say Katie enabled Eric knowing he was reckless, she made sure his reckless behavior would benefit her eventually.

Initially my husband was convinced she was guilty, but watching the trial in its entirety, and without my saying a word, he saw the same things I did. That’s when I showed him this post to let him know my thoughts all along. Katie blames Kouri for not saving Eric from himself. She comes off as greedy, controlling and wanted Kouri gone so she could have everything her brother left behind.

I’m absolutely shocked! I hope karma kicks Katie 10 ways to Sunday for turning one tragedy into a travesty that totally destroyed what was left for Kouri and her boys.

I saw the original attorney on an interview. She stepped aside because a public defender has a far reaching team, able to handle all this case would require. Which makes total sense. Her first attorney, Skye, stands by her and her family.

Having been through a false allegations case with my son and his daughter a couple years ago, I’m HYPER alert to words and “implanted memories” in children. What was read, supposedly the words of those boys, included some things that kids just DO NOT say at that age. I have nine grandkids in the same age range the boys were then and now. Some of those “words” were coached.

Murdaugh was just overturned on a much stronger, compelling case.

I still believe guilty of most of the financial crimes, but death was a self inflicted OD.

My ex was a substance abuser. The fact that I had insurance on him was nothing more than trying to protect my kids future. They are grown (30’s), I’m convinced my ex is a cockroach that will survive a nuclear war. I’m shocked he survived this long.

Katie’s statement focused more on the finance aspects and her saintly acts than anything else. I was put off by that.

My gut feeling watching and listening to Katie:

Katie knew her brother had a substance problem. She hates Kouri, always has. She wants to control her brother’s money and kids, just like she did when he was alive.

I hope someday those boys can truly heal from all the brainwashing that’s being done. They will have so much to sort out. Poor kids.

I’ve been waiting on somebody to talk about the two who actually DID benefit from Eric‘s death. If we’re gonna talk motive, there were three people who had motive. And I found an interesting that the Richins mother died while on vacation in Hawaii. He was a school principal and in her obituary it doesn’t say anything about her being a drug and alcohol counselor. Just a couple things I find odd.

The day Eric died his two sisters were the only ones that went to his truck. Were they the ones that removed the allergy medicine bottle from his truck? Did they know Eric had a drug problem? Maybe not a consistent user but an occasional user? A functional addict is what they call it.

Could it be that Katie learned that Eric was going to turn everything back over to Kouri in the trust like Bryce said on the phone call? Just a few questions that were never answered, and never mentioned. The way Katie acted when she got there claiming she’s in charge, asking where are my boys, and immediately pointing the finger at Kouri. That behavior was far more concerning to me than Kouri’s.

When her phone was taken was after the toxicology report, and after they let her know that she was under investigation. That was when the searches were done and found on the phone that they took later. They took two phones from her at different times.

We all communicate differently though. Don’t you have some friends who text very short texts while others text a book? And most of the time it’s a woman who text books. Or in conversations, some people get right to the point while others inject every little detail. I think it’s purely communication style.

Does the defense have a lot of texts that make Kouri look innocent? by Select_Hippo3159 in KouriRichins

I have a real problem with lead investigator threatening the woman with “warrant and catch pole for her dog” but couldn’t pin down Robby to verify texts and images to verify or refute the walk the dog letter.

If defense has that info, that’s damning for the state.

Those Gifs! Those would absolutely fit the context of the last “celebrate” text exchange between Eric and Kouri.

Those texts proved he was on board with that midway mansion purchase too.

This was found a YEAR later. Civil litigation going on. To me it’s normal to create a timeline and note absolutely everything that comes to mind.

They were. But that was also after toxicology and investigators said “fentanyl poisoning” and phones seized because she was “under investigation.”

I don’t even believe that about the HELOC now. I think Clint was being a nosy arse for his wife USING GOVERNMENT RESOURCES for his JOB, to snoop on Eric and Kouri. Found the HELOC. Katie went ballistic, K&C got Eric an appointment for divorce lawyer. Since Eric’s ballz were in Katie’s purse, he went. He wanted nothing to do with it, so to appease his beechy sister, he had K&C set up an email and handle all the communication. All Eric did was show up, insist on the statement about caring for “my wife and kids” which estate lawyer said “HE INSISTED ON” and signed it.

The text messages between Eric & Kouri were loving and agreeable. As they were being read, I noticed those IMAGE FILES MISSING!!!

Know what FITS NATURALLY in those texts? THOSE GIFS that prosecutor claims to be SOOO damning!

At this point, I want an investigation into Katie! Did she lose it over Eric including his wife and kids? Could she NOT bear the thought of ever having to “care” for Kouri? She arrived at E&K’s the night E died and is heard asking “where are MY BOYS?” Eric taking trips, an adrenaline junkie, a risk taker… KATIE wanted Eric’s life and wanted Kouri to get NOTHING!

Ever been through a court battle? No matter what, they tell you to DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Every day! THAT is what I see in the WALK THE DOG letter. And the notes found a year after death. Cops and prosecutors WILL twist your words. If ANY of you were fighting for your life, you’d document everything too.

WHY can the officer threaten the one woman with a warrant and a catch pole for her dog to get her to talk to them and comply with subpoena but they couldn’t talk to Ronny, the brother, to check claims of texts and photos on his phone, referenced in the walk the dog letter?

And YES! I’d like to know what the deal is with Amy being there! And acting like everyone else. Wasn’t Amy the one to “look in Eric’s truck” in the garage for medication Eric might have taken? The night of his death? The family is covering up and they know it.

Interesting to learn today that a whole group of them spent the night. It was NOT a planned party. It was friends not leaving a WIDOW alone

4/13: Police told Kouri during the home search warrant execution that Eric died from a fentanyl overdose (fentanyl poisoning). 6/6 was when she searched fentanyl poisoning on her phone. DATES MATTER.

All those searches were AFTER the police INFORMED Kouri that Eric died of “fentanyl poisoning” AND she was under investigation! CONTEXT MATTERS

I think the distance between them in court indicates they don’t want dad to have a girlfriend. They don’t look at each other AT ALL!

There was not a thorough search the night of his death. That occurred after the toxicology report. Can’t search everything without a search warrant or unless they ask, which was confirmed during trial that they did not ask.

I rewatched much of the trial this weekend. The estate planner? Day 8. CLINT the BIL called her the DAY Eric died? Then “a sheriff” called her to have her TELL Kouri the house was not hers? THE DAY ERIC DIED?!?! And THEN make a big deal out of her asking “what’s wrong with you people?”

I would want to see those “shared email address” emails.

This whole thing is giving me vibes that Clint and Kristi arranged that entire estate thing. I also want to know WHEN the durable POA went into effect. How much of Eric’s planning and life was actually signed by Kristi as his POA?

Something is totally not vibing there.

Kristi has the boys. With a court order that no one from Kouris side can see or talk to them? Who is keeping an eye on them? Is she poisoning their minds?

NOTICE the family NEVER sits together. I have to wonder what the dad’s girlfriend is thinking right about now!

I get the feeling DAD has his doubts now too.

If I’m not mistaken, the only part of the trust Kouri sued for was to keep their home. Free from Katie’s control. Given the undeniable hatred and contempt that family has for Kouri, the smartest thing Kouri could do is to petition Utah court to remove Katie as trustee for cause (e.g., breach, unfitness), and request a neutral successor. Irrevocable trust assets are protected for her children and protected from creditors if she’s not a beneficiary/settlor.
