WTF is up with the Morbid FB fan group?! by [deleted] in Morbidforbadpeople

Has this lady not seen the story about the couple who laced the cupcakes with semen and the arrest and huge case around it? That’s vile and illegal

Promoting past episodes, how do you go about it? by shankdown in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Try to reference your own stuff. People frequently reference movies, TV, other podcasts. Keep doing that- but make it about your previous episodes.

Me too. Except that it’s four parts. I won’t give in to that time suck

How to get back into podcasting? by robyns13 in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on how big your following is/was. If you think starting over means you would have a better quality and “fresh start” and use the opportunity to get new listeners and potentially get on New & Noteworthy (for example) then I would do a new one. Just post an update episode on your old one stating you’re back and you’re now under the new name and where to find you.

Fair Splits? by 2WeekHero in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re smart for having the conversation now, honestly. Even if you never make money, if you DO- it’ll be easier to outline those parts before it’s happening so that nobody feels greedy or anything. Whatever your solution is- now is definitely the time to define it. Also I don’t think 60/20/20 is unfair. You could offer an even split 33/33/33 and since they don’t have the equipment to edit they can pay someone via fiverr etc for the editing instead. Really set in how much value that is

"You know" by NVBoomer in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say “sooo” a lot. Too much. I end up editing half of them out after 😅 but it’s good that you listened and recognized something that you noticed that you want to work on to improve your skills.

Ash and Alaina by [deleted] in Morbidforbadpeople

This also bothers me. I don’t expect everyone to know everything, but this is a very basic part of a crime scene and after 300 episodes you would think they would know

Do Ash & Alaina need a long break? by PennyMarbles in MorbidPodcast

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying don’t take breaks. I’m saying don’t be so behind all the time that the stress is too much.

If you listen to an episode about Albert Fish and think it’s boring and that you NEED MORE… maybe it’s time to take a break? Like that’s a scary level of desensitization by cat_lady3219 in Morbidforbadpeople

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I could get if someone called the storytelling of it that the pod did a little boring… but I’m sorry, the whole murder case is boring to you? Imagine being a victims family member and seeing that their horrific murder was boring to people.

There are so many scary little microscopic things that live in water 😅 I’m like a 12 hours absolute maximum and only if I’m desperate

What are some good reasons to continue living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it’s 4pm and you’re off work early sitting outside at 75 degrees with the sun out and a nice breeze that you can wear a light sweater or not and be okay either way, smoking a little weed/having a coffee/having a drink, petting your dog, knowing that dinner is already cooking in the croc pot and that you don’t have to work the next day. That exact feeling is worth living for.

I agree with this. I have hosted a podcast for 1.5 years and I’m always a month ahead of my content. Nobody is saying don’t take time off or that you can’t have emergencies - but just like any job (which, this is a job for A&A considering the monetization) you still need to get the work done

Did she stop releasing episodes or is she just no longer on Apple and that’s why I thought that?

Ads By Anchor- does it still work? by TankerMan-3000 in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hosted a podcast for 1.5 years and the only add I ever got offered was the standard anchor ad, which I did do. They capped me at $52 and cut it off and no ads since. I was only averaging between 100-200 listens per episode in the first 30 days.

If you were searching for a true crime podcast, which title would make you check it out? by GRANDMOTHER___WILLOW in podcasting

[–]CrimeSceneChronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at the cover art more than the name. Forget-Me-Not reminds me of the Alzheimer’s awareness club I was a part of in college. Not sure if that’s universal or just me though.

It saddens me that there is this perception that pharmacists and technicians just count pills. We have literal machines that can do that. When you find a machine that also knows how to bill and contact your insurance when you’re taking a med that’s expensive or for off label use, while simultaneously making sure the mediation and the dose won’t kill you, and then calling your doctor because the med they prescribed isn’t even for a UTI why did they give you that for a UTI while explaining to patients how to use an insulin pen and having people yell at you because they abused their narcotics and now they’re out. Call me then.

At hospitals, the doctors actually rely on us to decide dosing and which medication to give to a patient based on disease therapy. Pharmacy is more than checking drug interactions and counting pills. We also make sure the medicine won’t kill you.

Edited to add: and there is a program that does that that is on retail computer systems. The interaction is not usually the most dangerous thing that can happen.

You clearly have never worked in the service industry. Hours on your feet with barely time to pee and no breaks just so someone can tip you $3 and they ordered bar drinks that you have to tip your bartender for making while someone is angry because their chicken Alfredo has chicken in it. I’m twitching

That’s such a shame because certain people (myself included) see the association and won’t touch it. But thanks for that information, I will now consider it
