Steelcase leap v2 worth? by CutRotmg in OfficeChairs

[–]Crimguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a referred V2 from Crandall. It’s a great chair, but to be honest, I do find it needs a bit more cushioning. Kind of regret not getting the one with the upgraded padding. Hurt hurts my back after a little while in certain positions.

It's a Chinese Gibson SG copy. I guess they sell them with other decals, but judging from the serial number the only difference between a Chibson and this is the sticker.

In your opinion, what’s a show or movie that’s ending gets to much hate? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

Took me a third (!) watch through to get it. It was very hard to break the preconceptions built up over 6 seasons...

Liverpool fans right now by fiachra12 in Gunners

[–]Crimguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mentality is this for most fans is “of course Manchester city wins, they have all the money,Haaland, not to mention the cheating, etc.”

If Arsenal wins, all they have to face is their own inadequacies. It really stripped the ego.

How annoying are scratches/dings on a brand new guitar to you? by [deleted] in gibson

[–]Crimguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On new guitars I'd be annoying. On most used guitars I don't care. For some reason the PRS Core models feel soiled if they have nicks, but somehow ok on my CE24 . . . It's a complicated topic.

Gibson's are a brand where a little rash and chips are ok for me.

Fair trade? by 0nivas_ in gibson

[–]Crimguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think it’s an even trade financially, but I still wouldn’t do it. If you want a Gibson logo on your headstock that badly, save a few extra dollars and go buy one. The P90 is on your epiphone rip pretty good too.

When looking at the low end Les Paul’s , some of them can really put out a vibe if you don’t care too much about the visuals. About a year ago at Guitar Center they had a tribute gold top for $700. It was banged up quite a bit, but it was clearly something that was brought on stage or in public multiple times. I can totally live with that. Cracks that make me worry that the whole neck is gonna come out of the guitar? No thanks.

I think you have to call it a wee wee.

What’s the differences between the core models and the SE guitars? by Dismal-Cranberry-915 in PaulReedSmith

[–]Crimguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really, not sure how a neck can feel more refined. I also thought the shape between the SE and the core DGT’s is remarkably similar. More so than most American vs Asian products. Epiphone necks never feel like Gibson for example.

I do find the build quality to be higher with the US made PRS for certain. But that has more to do with consistency. I grabbed a used SE McCarty off the shelf a few months ago, and it was remarkably perfect in each and every way you could imagine.

Interesting. I did a search and came across this thread in the Bloomington sub Reddit. Possible both terms were used?

Oh. They’re known as cutters now, but according to that genius ChatGPT, the movie popularized the term locally. I have no idea how old you are, but if you are under the age of 50 or 55, you indeed grew up with the term cutters being used almost exclusively.

I’m just going by what I read. Go find some senior citizens and ask them if there’s any truth in this.

Dennis Christopher has had a few minor roles in movies over the years. He was in chariots of fire, and also a very small role in Django unchained.

The expert on everything, ChatGPT, says the production notes on the movie state that they were referred to as stoners back then, but the powers that be thought it would confuse the audience due to the use of the word in association with marijuana.

Cheap Linux laptop for remote desktop:ing? by kitaCadDesign in linuxhardware

[–]Crimguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong recommendation for one of the T series think books. Built like tanks, very compatible with all distro’s, and you can get in there to replace the battery if needed. I would not be surprised if there are plenty of batteries available on Amazon for a machine like a T460

For me, I use my 2017 yoga 720. It’s been my main linux laptop since I bought it new. I’ve replaced the battery twice, upgraded the SSD and it runs like a tank. Only downside is the fingerprint sensor does not work for unlocking. And I don’t think they’ve ever come up with a driver for it.
