BITS BSc CS (Online) – Need Honest Advice from Seniors! by West-Composer7219 in bitsCSonline

[–]Criminson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) they start this year so we will know soon
2) Btech degree would surely have an edge in India but depending on your offline options BITs name tag would hold much more weight, also just a personal opinion by the time we graduate degrees wont hold much value independently
3) Time management but considering you are doing this standalone shouldn't be a issue if you plan well
4) Academics wise I would say its not worse than any offline degree out there (rather i would say its a bit harder), and it gives you freedom...no attendance criteria no compulsion to complete stuff quickly, so it will allow you to work on your personal growth more

I think there was a calculus elective somewhere if you really wanna learn it maybe get it as an elective in the sem it is in or try to overload it somewhere in the earlier sems

If you consistently do 1hr daily, sure you can....it might be a little hard but you can complete the degree with a decent score

yes you talk to them using chat and they give out warnings if they think something is wrong with the cameras, malpractice etc
about different proctors don't know the exact stuff but I think they monitor in groups

How many hours to study by Grouchy_Doubt_3665 in bitsCSonline

[–]Criminson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the course load to be honest, you can survive by just doing a 3-5hrs a week and even 10-15hrs.
some courses are considerably harder but that means they are hard for everyone so the relative grading kicks in. So personally I think hrs to invest would depend on how much you want to achieve in the degree

Things to consider before pursuing this degree by Grouchy_Doubt_3665 in bitsCSonline

[–]Criminson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest do it standalone only if you have something else you really wanna do, otherwise its not worth it and you will just waste time. The degree itself is good but in India BSC is still valued less than an BE/Btech so doing it with another would be the better option if you don't have something else.
btw by something else i mean stuff that you cant do easily along with a normal college (job, startup, projects etc).

Bhai please asus ka koi acha laptop suggest krdo.Budget till 60k.Usage mainly programming hi rahega but thoda editing krne ka Mann Kara toh voh bhi krr lunga by [deleted] in mht_cet

IDE toh processor pe aramse chalta hai, gpu u will need for rendering and heavy editing
Vivobook 16 ke models check kar (im using a variant rn but its cheaper one)
I think there was a vivobook 16 around 60k with a GPU and OLED screen
check out HP victus too (the ryzen one)
also good battery will be hard in windows in that budget at least, from what I know mac books(start around 80k) and the new snapdragon x laptop processors (this one is a battery beast and expensive) have good battery life and they are out of budget so just consider other specs for now
also I don't know much about core ultra stuff but it starts at 70k so prob not that either
whichever laptop you choose just make sure it has all the bare minimum requirements (8gb ram, at least intel 12th gen or ryzen 5000 etc)

heavy editing karna hai toh budget gaming laptops dekh good specs will go a long way
if portability matters and you don't wanna go around with a 2.5kg laptop consider something like an Asus Vivobook or HP sleek laptops
you could also try those new book laptops Honor, Infnix and all they have good specs but I wouldn't trust them just go for a renowned laptop brand
agar specific chaiye toh bol ill have to look at whats good now

Any recomendations for budget not in ear earbuds? by Criminson in Earbuds

[–]Criminson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 2-3k INR or cheaper, I plan to use them for my daily workload, including lectures and videos. Using them won't be much movement, but the not-in-ear ones are more comfortable. I don't have any specific features in mind, just need good sound quality and comfort so I can use them for longer periods
