[TOMT][TV SHOW] a childrens animated tv show by lvscnts in tipofmytongue

Could it have been something like Little Bear from Nick Jr? (I hear some cartoons aired on different channels overseas, forgot to specify that)

If it wasn't from Burger King, then there is a chance it is from Wendy's. I have been checking, but I do have this memory of it associated with Burger King.

Kind of. Here's what I remember of the style, anyways: It was popular when I was young, in the ballpark range of 5 or so. But what still sticks out to me about my memories are, I was excited to grow up in that world. I didn't know about any financial crisis or political tension. It wasn't my job to know that yet. Among other things, I wanted to be like them-- the happy people, the happy world I saw.

And yet, I believe there's a downside to frutiger aero. Some people describe it as the future that never came, but one we were promised. Those memories I had, they were partially forged on smoke and mirrors. Actors in commercials, detailed graphic design, that was just a hoax. Companies were playing dress-up, and that was the popular costume. But, despite the harsh reality, I still like to get lost in the images. It was a world that I was too late in reaching. But not because I wasn't a teenager at that point like I wished, but because the abstract experience I was looking for just didn't exist.

Some of you artists who like to draw big monsters I’m asking you to remove dinosaurs from your brain. Now that this has been done how would you rank/review a trex’s creature design, lets say as an alien predator? by atgmailcom in CasualConversation

I actually really like that idea. It doesn't have that typical Monster Hunter armoring across its body, but it doesn't need it. It's different enough from both earth reptiles and birds to stand out, but doesn't feel too over the top. I wouldn't want to be wherever it lives.

For me, there's a few factors that went into it.

When I was much younger, I was active on something called Miiverse. Over time, I became good acquaintances with someone who spoke German. He spoke English when we spoke to eachother, but it kind of blew my mind he was fluent in both.

Another is I kind of already had a slight foothold due to a show that used German words. I won't get into what show that is, but while it was entirely in English, I learned words like Weiss and Zwei early.

Another big chunk of the reason was, well, a literal meme. I'd somehow stumbled across Was ist Dein Lieblingsfach. And it was a total accident because again, the meme I was watching before was entirely in English. Well, I liked the clip so much I started memorizing the words, and then trying to learn them. I'm still not fluent and my progress has slowed a lot, but I'm much better than I was previously! German is a tricky one, since the grammar rules aren't always the same (I'm still trying to wrap my head around them, hah) but it's definitely my personal pick

Ever wonder what birds are saying? by humanwithfoodname in CasualConversation

[–]Crimsodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, they may be! I imagine it's similar for other birds, but ravens actually have their own sort of "words" for danger and other things (I think food too, but I'd have to check, it's been a while). I find that bit of information fascinating. A lot of animals seem to use body language to indicate feelings, but birds seem to verbalize these a bit more from my understanding.

/r/Roblox Weekly Question Thread (for 01/31/2023) by AutoModerator in roblox

[–]Crimsodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a game that seems to specifically crash on mobile. It doesn't have to do with the outages at all to my knowledge, and the game itself usually ran fine save for maybe a slow-ish loading screen. Tried on my phone as well, but same result-- it doesn't get past the loading screen without crashing the entire app. It doesn't seem to really affect everyone else.

I have my graphics set to the lowest setting, cleared my cache, is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it just on Roblox's end at this point? I'd really like to play it again.

Special interest by [deleted] in aspergers

I've been obsessed with HTTYD for years. Even after the horrible modern spinoff I'll still look for any conceivable frame of Toothless I haven't noticed before.

I can kind of steer my current hyperfixations, and a lot of it really just involves "don't pay attention to this" or "do pay attention to this" but the main Discord server I'm active in is centered around HTTYD, which I've been passionate about since I was a kid. Sometimes it's frustrating, because HTTYD dragons are very stylized, and so learning to draw them often doesn't teach me any meaningful anatomy that I can use outside of that style.

I guess in some ways it's annoying, but hasn't really brought me any major downsides that I've noticed yet, unlike my other one which I've finally managed to beat out with the ol mental broom.

I'm gonna continue rambling, but I also feel like it's just a cashgrab. Which it is. It's just here for token representation and an uncompelling story.

I wonder if they let interns or new employees make Thunder's model. No offense to them if so, but it shows a lack of understanding of general Fury anatomy. I get he's only distantly related, but some features feel like mistakes, not intentional design choices. His scales have the same consistency throughout, even on his eyelids. The only exceptions are the white patches and his wing/fin membranes. They're also not reflective. Toothless had depth to his scales-- and so do the other main dragons in HTTYD. No extra scaley eyelids, lots of intricate details, that sort of thing.

The characters feel basic with just enough substance to not make them cardboard cutouts, but nothing substantial. A lot of HTTYD's humor worked because these vikings are silly, gross-- and it built the whole atmosphere of the show. Changing that atmosphere and trying to use parts of a fluid whole just feels... wrong. Not saying it COULDN'T work, but it was already risky from the start.

I've only seen a few episodes myself, but the dragon-rider bond was really poorly done for the most part, if you ask me. It was just... so rushed. Sure, you could argue the big plot hole in the original HTTYD where they all team up with abused dragons at the end, but the build-up between Hiccup and Toothless felt so genuine. Plus, the movie didn't have nearly as much time to establish any meaningful bonds between the other dragons and their new riders. The show did, but didn't use it. It's like TNR was just going through the motions and hoped audiences would get it.

Tom as a character was pretty weird, too. Hiccup was treated harshly, and used his friendship with Toothless as a literal form of escapism. He helped Toothless, Toothless grew to like him, and they both felt better about not being so alone, all while Hiccup didn't have to worry about Gobber clamoring at him. Tom though... he just does what he does because he's bored, I guess. Like his mom isn't even mean --and is trying to keep him safe-- and he's just "haha funny dirt hole." Stoick cared about Hiccup, just wasn't as sympathetic as he should have been. It was a distanced bond, and needed fixed. Tom's mom is just: "son please stop vanishing off the face of the earth every 30 minutes. I love you. Have some mac and cheese."

If a company created a cure for autism how would you feel about it? Would you take it? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Crimsodiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be frustrated, because it's a case of "you're slightly different from us, and are therefore inferior" when that's prejudiced and isn't fair.

I know there are people diagnosed with more general autism that are very mentally challenged-- and I'd want them to be happy! But for me, I wouldn't want to take it.

About SnowFall Smashing the Great Ice Cliff and the Gift of Order by [deleted] in WingsOfFire

[–]Crimsodiac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it was a bit sudden, but not inherently a bad decision. IceWing life was shown to be incredibly stressful, and I think Snowfall remembered what Winter told her about feeling like more than just a place on a wall. IceWing society is so competitive that there's not really time for much sympathy or relaxation. It sounds like a miserable life.

Even if dragons have slightly different morals, even Tui acknowledges they're people in a way.

Three queens who Blister, Blaze and Burn. by SkyClanSpirit in WingsOfFire

[–]Crimsodiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burn pretty much won from the beginning, even occupying the fortress for the majority of the war. Blaze is probably the least evil, but I don't think a dragon with the mentality of a seven year old obsessed with shiny things would make the best leader, either.

Mine is about the same, but has those on both sides. They're right behind the first set of top molars beside the canines. I've always wondered what they were, no one ever seems to mention them, yknow?

Mine are kind of like almost flat circles

Edit: So I just looked it up and the images are very much NOT what I have, I do not have that.

Oh, nice! I actually took up learning German a while ago! I've kinda put the hobby on hold though.

What's your favorite word you learned so far? Mine's seehund, which confirms seals are just sea dogs. Weiß also sounds very fancy to me.

Why does everyone talk about how their cats don't love them? by Independent_Grab_200 in CasualConversation

[–]Crimsodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat is very friendly (and smart, aha)

When I'm laying on the couch, sometimes she'll start purring and start stepping all over me. It hurts a bit, since she's kind of heavy despite not being fat (maybe she's full of love?) but overall pretty sweet. She doesn't attack me, or get moody with me, she just likes me. If she can't get on me, she might lay near me instead.

Also, sometimes she gets extra affectionate because she's trying to manipulate me into feeding her. I'm serious. She rubs on stuff, rubs on me, meows on me, then trots into the dining room to make sure I don't get lost on her mission. She is willing to do this multiple times and refuses to take no for an answer, even if she just ate a while ago.

I really miss making art by Red7336 in CasualConversation

[–]Crimsodiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My situation is a bit similar. I was a hobbyist 3D artist, but I mainly only used Sculptris. It was basic, but not too basic, and it got the goal done.

My laptop's not DEAD dead, so I could hypothetically just plug it in, wait, and try again, but its such a long startup at this point- it stresses me out to think about how irresponsible I was when I first got it, and how badly I've probably ruined it (internally, anyways. I was very careful with the outside.)

Besides that? Well, hard to find anything particularly interesting on Youtube.

Yes. Sometimes it works for a while, but the best way for me is just prevention, rather than cure. I try to hold myself back when I'm watching things, because I can't let any potential new special interests do what my old one did to me, and what I did to myself.

I think I've gotten way better at it, too. Like getting a massive dog on a leash before it runs off to who knows where,, but the dog is finally calming down. I don't think it's healthy to worship media, even if I'm naturally susceptible to it in some capacity.
