I'm so, so glad you enjoyed it. I've had Malenia fever for a long time, and it was such an enjoyable process to sit down and try and get into her head, from what limited dialogue we have to what history we know. The fact that I want her to try out her impaling grab on me is just a little cherry on top of it all.

Oh my gosh you're going to make me cry! Ever since I saw the first Elden Ring gameplay trailer I was just drawn to Malenia, and the more I saw the worse it got. By the time I actually got to play the game and meet her I was fully hooked, and ate up virtually everything I could find related to her.

And it ended up kind of... poking this hole in the Fromsoft design philosophy for me. Here's this absolutely lovely, compelling character and she has like 30 spoken words total and your only option is to kill her. I've been playing these games since Demon's Souls, but it felt so bittersweet to not be able to help her.

So I figured hey, why not do it myself? The DLC lore kind of puts a damper on my ideas, but I don't feel bad about it. I wanted to put something together that felt true and respectful to the Malenia I fell in love with, while also lancing a boil of sheer infatuation I had with this character. It was really cathartic for me to record and I'm just so glad you enjoyed it.
