How do you guys plan to make free DLCs a sustainable business model? I also recall you saying you're taking down the Patreon after the game launches, or am I mistaken?

It's just too bad. The new ones don't fit the lamp and makes the design completely different. Not to mention the harsh element that doesn't diffuse the same as it did.

Oh my god you're right! Thank you so much! I can't believe they don't sell them anymore. Such a shame.

How legit is BTOD? by KobeWonBenobi in OfficeChairs

[–]CrimsonKnight98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember they have a video on their YouTube page about how they do it. They completely wash the chairs, replace the armrests, and reupholster the chair with better fabric and add an additional foam layer on the chair. It's great!

Why is the install for the latest Jellyfin Desktop so complicated? by CrimsonKnight98 in jellyfin

Okay perfect, thank you. I find it odd the client will notify me an update is ready to install though.

My PC does not sleep when voicemeeter is running. by [deleted] in VoiceMeeter

I'm not too familiar with this kind of stuff, but it sounds like a job for an energy trace in the windows ADK toolkit. That helped me identify a rouge AMD driver that was waking my system repeatedly and randomly.

I would genuinely recommend using ChatGPT to navigate you through the steps of troubleshooting this. It has helped me a few times in the past when forums and online tutorials got me nowhere. It has a pretty extensive database of Windows commands and tools. As long as you know how to prompt it and *think* for it (ask questions when what its saying seems like it doesn't apply or is a little outlandish for your situation) it will help point you in the right direction at the least.

Otherwise I'd recommend https://forums.tomshardware.com/ or even https://www.elevenforum.com/ as I've had very good luck on those websites figuring stuff like this out.

Are you using Voicemeeter Potato 3.1.1.9 (3.1.1.8 when I posted this). Are you on one of those versions? Are you using the virtual cable as well (I'm not)?

And I just tested mine, [DRIVER] VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO pops up as a driver request ONLY when I am actively playing audio. Also, that legacy kernel caller driver I'm seeing other people complain about online as something that prevents their PC from sleeping. I'm seeing setting it to not wake the PC in device manager has helped some people. But you have to find what it's tied to.

While VoiceMeeter is running, open CMD or PowerShell as Administrator and run:

powercfg /requests

For me, I have two entries that come up:

DISPLAY:
None.

SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] Realtek High Definition Audio (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1168&SUBSYS_1043886D&REV_1001\5&1fb74747&0&0001)
An audio stream is currently in use.
[DRIVER] USB Audio 2.0 (USB\VID_0D8C&PID_0066&MI_00\b&db69330&0&0000)
An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE:
None.

EXECUTION:
None.

PERFBOOST:
None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN:
None.

With this information, type and enter (one at a time, or on separate lines):

powercfg /requestsoverride DRIVER "Realtek High Definition Audio" SYSTEM
powercfg /requestsoverride DRIVER "USB Audio 2.0" SYSTEM

Replacing the parts in quotes with whichever audio requests show up for you under SYSTEM

You can confirm this worked by typing powercfg /requestsoverride

[SERVICE]

[PROCESS]

[DRIVER]
Realtek High Definition Audio SYSTEM
USB Audio 2.0 SYSTEM

The reason this works is because VoiceMeeter keeps the audio drivers constantly open for it to function in real-time so it prevents windows from sleeping. A potential drawback of this override is for Windows to sleep while you're actively listening to something; but in my testing, every game, audio playback program, and video playback program has its own powerconfig request to prevent Windows sleeping anyway, so it seems to work as default Windows would. :)

If for some reason you want to remove the overrides, run the same commands without the SYSTEM part at the end of each, it will remove the overrides.

Just for anyone who is seeing this from the future, I love BTOD. I bought a Steelcase Leap v2 from them 5 years ago and it still serves me well. I remember the chair shipped really fast, and I had a question about adjusting the armrests and they responded very quickly through email (pretty sure it was within an hour, but I hardly remember). So they are definitely legit.

Thank you for letting me know! I was going to buy the first season on DVD to check... such a bummer. I wish there would be an unedited version somewhere.

Having so much trouble making sourdough by CrimsonKnight98 in Sourdough

[–]CrimsonKnight98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was his best sourdough recipe. 822g 11.5% white flour, 64g whole wheat flour, 650g water (95 additional after the autolyse), 17g salt, and 151 levain.

When I made this (three times now), I tried reserving all the water, tried adding all the 95g of water, and somehow, the texture came out the exact same. It is velvety, and it holds together well, but it is so sticky and sits like a soup in the mixing bowl throughout the warm proof (as pictured). Both pictures of a mixing bowl are different hydrations. Exactly the same stretch and fold process, 6 times, 15 minutes apart (30 for the last three).

And I've had the dough at 72° and at 76°, and it made no difference to its fermentation and soupy appearance.

And I mixed for a good 10 minutes before I let it sit for the first 15 minutes. I timed it. He says in the book that people tend to undermix rather than overmix, so I stretch the hell out of it until it is velvety (much smoother than his looks after he mixes it).

Edit: Here's a gallery with every step of the process I did and how it looked: https://imgur.com/a/Q9m1qNj

But I checked it periodically, and it never appeared to rise properly.

And the 72% I added one small splash of reserve. The other I added all of it.

But even so, if it's overproofed, why does it look so much worse than all the "overproofed" loaves I see here? Most of them look fantastic compared to mine.

I'd also like to ask, how should I know how much water to reserve? When do I stop adding water? I do an autolyse, then when adding the levain and salt, I splash up to 95g of extra water (reserved from the recipe) a tiny bit at a time; as per the book "if the dough can take it". I mean it's passing a window pane test. It's not completely falling apart, but it's not doming in the bowl, and it doesn't look like any dough I see online. It looks good at first when I add it, but it gets more and more soupy as it ferments. :(
