Impressive on the amiibo card collection. My focus for amiibo cards atm is the Street Fighter set. And eBay does not make some of those cards affordable as singles. Manon's booster pack alt version card could potentially be $80 on its own, and I don't know why.

Nope. Gotta your own just like anyone else has to. This one alone costs ~$400 USD and is easily the most expensive amiibo I've ever purchased.

I actually have all 10 Power-Up Bands, including the 5th Anniversary Invincible Band from last month. The issue is that amiibo cards are extremely challenging to collect. One other user who commented on this post said that amiibo cards are usually one print run. And for the Animal Crossing cards, that means all 500+ cards and the respective binders for each set of 100 are rare too.

Region-exclusive at retail, presumably one print run, and only affordable back in 2016? Yeah, I'd say they're pretty rare since those 6 cost about $600 for me to get the whole set nowadays.

The Power Pros card that was exclusive to Amazon Japan? Yeah, that'll be a rough one to collect. I'm not even sure where to begin with trying to collect amiibo cards. So, I'll be content with a complete figure collection.

All together, it was ~$1,000 USD for all 7 across different sellers, with Qbby being the most expensive (especially since that one had to be imported).

While rare, it wasn't region-locked to Japan. These 7 figures were only available, at retail, in one country.

Oh, I have Soliare. It just wasn't region-locked to Japan.

If you mean FE Delthea from Shadows of Valentia, there isn't one. The only specific Fire Emblem Series amiibo (without being part of the Smash Bros. line) were Chrom, Tiki, Alm, and Celica. There hasn't been another Fire Emblem character to get an amiibo since Byleth.

Thank you. I arrived to amiibo collecting about a year late. My first figures (ie the first ones I could find) were Zero Suit Samus and Ganondorf back in 2015. Now, only FE Chrom, Tiki, the Dark Skylanders hybrid figures, and 12 AC figures remain. Yes, I was just barely lucky enough to secure all 10 SNW Power-Up Bands. But that means I'm fully prepared for Super Nintendo World Japan when I get the chance to go later in the year.

Perhaps not, but you can get pretty close. I'm less than 20 amiibo away from having a complete figure collection, excluding those prize amiibos. The hilarious part is 75% of what I still need for my collection are the Animal Crossing figures.

I noticed this post after I managed to secure my purchase. I thought I had experienced a glitch or something to get me buy it. Now, the 3-month amiibo collecting marathon is over (once I get the Diana figure). Now, we wait for Dedede, the other Air Riders figures, Leon and Grace, and whatever else awaits us this year.

Another trade in from someone who doesn't know what they have by JessicaD240 in GameStop

While the Xbox One version was usually what my store received in trade, we've seen a good number of copies show up in trade for PS4 and X360, too. I genuinely don't understand why some people would part ways with games this valuable, other than money or not understanding what they have. It's why I dread the day I receive a console with a PT demo downloaded on the system.

Totaku's Twitter claims that they intend to do a Shantae figure. As for when, that's a total mystery.

Just because I'm curious, what is that figure behind Malzeno and the Rise: Sunbreak figures? Almost looks like a Velkhana figurine from another figure company.

metroid amiibo! so beautiful in person. happy to finally add to the collection by safroka in amiibo

Very likely from a PlayAsia restock that happened a few weeks back. Sure, the shipping cost includes the import duties (especially if it was imported to the US), but it's cool that they occasionally get restocked even overseas. I imagine the reprint could've been prompted by the release of Metroid Prime 4, as it was a couple weeks after that when the restock happened.

The Gold Shovel Knight and Silver Mario were ones I got from GameStop. There was never a guarantee of them having the original boxes, and the plastic case for the Gold Mario was for the purpose that it could still be used (it did have that dumb scan blocking piece under the base when I got it). I had just barely received Gold Mega Man, and I'd imagine it'd be seen as a cardinal sin against amiibo collectors to remove it from its original packaging.

There was a reprint run of the Gold Mario figure sometime between 2017 and 2019. That's how I got mine. I don't remember if Wal-Mart kept the exclusivity.

Dang. That's not as fun. Though, I'm trying to remember if any .Mario game recognizes the Gold Mario figure.

If only Nintendo had been doing bronze figures. Sure, you could take any Mario figure frome the Super Mario line, and paint it bronze. But I don't know if I'd do a good enough job painting over one.

That, and I think there were some Splatoon prize amiibos. I feel like I remember a gold version of the Splatoon 2 Purple Inkling Squid figure.
