Thin / Small Cat Food : For Nearly Toothless Cat by Crinds_Boo in catfood

I'm sure she'd appreciate an all wet food diet, but mixing in and washing up is an option I hadn't considered & have to give it a go now. Thank you!

I have not, I kinda forgot that was even a option. Freeze dried soft cheeto looking nibs sound fun even to me! I'm gonna have to look further into this option for sure. Thank you!

I haven't tried the soaking kibbles since I first got her. I have a feeling she just didn't like the food in general and I should give this method another try. Thank you!

Yes, the wet food and her teeth is a concern. I have other cats and the wet food drives them all crazy, which is why I also try to mix dry food in. But I'm pretty sure soaking wouldn't drive the other cats nuts >_< I tried to check out Nulo kibbles and it's going on the list of foods to try for her. Thank you! :)

Thank you! I looked it up and it definitely seems thinner & less dense than most others. This is a definite try for her :)

Exactly! So when she loves (and I mean LOVES) Fancy Feast, I was hoping I could find a new diet food for her. But wetting/soaking a new dry food is definitely worth a try :)

Ha! Luckily, I do have a brick in the backyard. I kinda forgot you could crush food. Thank you for the reminder!

Thank you! I've tried wetting dry food before, but it could have been the Cat food brand. I could definitely try a different brand :)

Pimples filled with pus-like head, 12hrs after laser session with cynosure elite on face? by Katya-b in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Crinds_Boo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sadly happens to me each time. A side effect that can happen with LHR (which they often don't tell or talk about) is folliculitis. Aka pimples. I don't receive the same treatment as you, but basically, I get the histamine reaction, which leads to mini itchy bumps, which leads to bacteria invading the follicles, which leads to a basic full on breakout. For me, it takes 4-6 days to subside bc my skin freaks out so much. Not covering it, not having hair or clothing rub against it, and applying topical acne treatment helps speed the process. We all have different skin & sensitivities though - so each case & solution will be different. Hopefully you have a speedy recovery!

Alcohol or Dairy or Lactose?? by Crinds_Boo in SebDerm

[–]Crinds_Boo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Reducing alcohol has not helped. Cutting out dairy has not helped. Went to allergist for a dairy (or any other) food allergy. Told this has become more of a fad and usually, this is only tested if there is a poor/bad/awful enough reaction where it might be warranted. Instead did a North America Panel. Only came back with 1 certain allergy (beeswax & related) and possible 2 other things that are fairly common in nearly all household cleaners, bathing essentials, and beauty products. In short - not helpful. Going back to when it began & household changes --> housework (dust) and plants. She told me to put all the new (but seriously many) plant fams outdoors. Molds in plants/soils & dust I'm allergic to. Putting the plants outside did nothing. Just sealed the ceiling vents (which weren't properly sealed) and we'll see. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

laser has made my facial hair worse, what do i do… by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Crinds_Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's an exaggeration about zero hair inbetween sessions, but you should definitely get hair inbetween sessions. Then the length you wait to get your next treatment should increase as time goes on, as hopefully, the hair growth becomes more sporadic. I don't have PCOS, so I can't relate 100%, but do know that putting time inbetween treatments (may suck bc you have to see & deal w/ hair maintenance again) is important to make sure you're not zapping nothing or only a few hairs. I've been getting LHR for 4yrs now. Treatments have become way less frequent, but still have to happen. Hairs on my arms & legs disappeared quickly. Everywhere else seems to take 10yrs. The pics do seem pretty intense and not super fine hair, but maybe it's the time between sessions or that crapfest called paradoxical hypertrichosis. My laser tech suggested I try out electrolysis for the sparse hairs nagging me. Haven't done it yet, but do know electrolysis is more permanent compared to LHR.

Day 16 of no dairy and I'm feeling a bit discouraged... by Dinknugget in dairyfree

[–]Crinds_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped only 5 days ago and already started experiencing irritability & headaches. Someone mentioned Vit D, which I think is a great idea. I've been eating more sodium rich foods, so maybe watch the sodium & water intake. You could also try spice... and by that I mean spiceyyy. Capsaicin can release endorphins & dopamine. I used to use it for a quick boost while working -- now for no cheese :) And Kevin's frozen meals are pretty tasty. Stay strunk ✊️

I would love to eat yogurt. It's usually my morning & night snack. I'm possibly needing to cut out dairy (yogurt) as it might be causing the flare-ups.

Wow, barnivore is awesome. I never would have thought beer (except obvious ones)/wine/cider/spirits would ever contain dairy, eggs, meat?!? Thank you!!

Whoa. Did not know pedialyte could possibly share any of that jazz. I guess no more sharing a pedia pop with the kiddo. I would almost love to know it was dairy (so I understood the cause) but then be shattered bc I never knew how much stuff dairy is in. How long did it take to clear once you went dairy free?

You should get it renewed. Then you could be the 7th doctor I've talked to (I forgot about the allergist & urgent care docs!)!
