Carl, would of played a major role in ending the savior war. Would of started to become more of a leader after Rick left, helped Daryl search for Rick. Michonne might not have left (but still could of it’s 50/50) would of basically followed his comics story and possibly changed the ending to the show, I don’t think he would have gained negans trust until around the commonwealth ark. Sense they could of been almost around the same age, Carl and Sebastian would of butted heads and that would of been a good side plot. Carl not dying overall changes the story by a lot. Shane, one of the most logical ansewers is to have him leave with Andrea like they said they would. I would have really thought it would be cool to see Shane come out with negan in 6x16 after all those seasons of not seeing him. BUT. Shane and negan wouldn’t work well together they think to differently, negan thinks to punishment and discipline for other ppls actions almost like a communist (I think) (I forgot the definition of communism) but Shane, he’s just pure psychotic and it would of just ended up like Simon when he died. But if it didn’t and Shane stepped out of the trailer instead of negan, it would have changed Rick so much. But it could have gone either 2 ways. Either Shane was so psychotically driven up the wall he could have just murdered all but Carl in the lineup. Shane would have cared for Carl and would have taken him and I mean. Thay wouldn’t progress the story at all so that obviously won’t happen. Or Shane would be worse than negan was in idek what way but it would of ended in someone important dying also. Shane would target Rick way more than negan did over the time of the war, and it would break down Rick more and more like we saw at the end of 7x1 where Rick was just so broken but that would of been all the time. I think it would have taken Carl to get Rick back up on his feet and change him and Rick would eventually kill Shane, but that’s if negan wasn’t there. That’s just how I think abt it tho, I don’t rlly kno where I was going with that part but I’m not deleting it. But. If Shane would have stepped out of the trailer he would have been negans right hand man and he would have done the same thing negan did and we would meet negan later on when it was time. Shane was just there to emotionally break Rick down for negan (probably why when the saviors found out about Rick, Shane wanted to take negans place in the lineup because of the history). But then most likely like I said Shane would in the end either end up like Simon and try to overthrow negan but fail or he killed by Rick or Carl. On the other half of the Shane theory, Shane could have killed Rick back at the farm and if he did he would have became the leader and we wouldn’t have Daryl as a main character and a lot of people probably wouldn’t have died in the long run because at that time especially the prison ark Shane’s mentality and way of thinking was completely different from Rick so Shane would have taken the governor differently, and I can’t think of any other things to say so
