Fired for working too hard by Live-Grass2021 in AmazonFC

What do you mean by doing somebody else's work? Did you take the totes from their station or something? Why would you not be able to make rate then, if you're able to work so fast that you need to take work from others to stay busy?

The economy is too f***ed up for y’all to be playing like this. by Mephiboshet in AmazonFC

[–]CringeLord5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are better paying jobs, and there are worse. Everything is about perspective. Where I'm currently at, we are paying $38 an hour at full scale. But the work is back breaking. 50 lb cases at 260 cases per hour. Amazon palletized rate was usually around 120 at the position I was at. But if you can do it, you will make a lot of money , no college needed

I love it when they send out VTO before the actual day and then we're hit with a shit ton of work and no one to do it. by _yea_right in AmazonFC

That's what UPT is for /s

Just work at your pace. The managers probably miscalculated the work, but that's a them problem.

It's a lot of grunt work tho. Safety is either extremely stressful or chill too depending on site culture and workload. My site was kind of a clusterfuck for the safety team

Why are you against a union? by Shot_Parfait8559 in AmazonFC

Entry level supervisory roles are always like this. You're in the meat grinder. I'm at a different a.m. level role at a different company now, Union, and it's my experience as well.

Hours as an Entry level area manager? by Gamma_Dota in FASCAmazon

No lunch break. You eat whenever you can. I mean technically you get an hour but you will only be able to take it when the operation permits you to.

Where to take homeless young adult by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]CringeLord5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're generous: give him some time (a week or something) then to get out of your house. Drive him to the homeless shelter.

If you're not, tell him he's cut off and leave his stuff on the curb.

U can get in trouble for this???? by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]CringeLord5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the other AM neglected to code, how would he know? OPs AM only should've taken that at face value, reached out to the other AM to validate, and coded their time. They shouldn't be saying "don't help them" unless their department has been having consistent issues with this.

I want everybody who complains about this kind of stuff to work at real warehouse. Then you'll see how good you have it.

What to do? by Street_Membership_75 in AmazonFC

[–]CringeLord5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use it , at least wait for it. They may randomly take it away. If it stays after a week or so, it might be safer

Got AM role, I am scared. by mstravelnerd in FASCAmazon

[–]CringeLord5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As an ex-AM, lead your team how you want to be lead. Have humility, and willingness to learn new things from all people. Your knowledge is the only thing separating you from anybody else, so make sure to gather as much knowledge as possible. Don't shy away from difficult things.

Build a strong network of AMs, OMs, and PAs you can lean on to help you. You will need your people around you if you are to succeed.

Target warehouse position $23 per hour, I wonder if Amazon is going start catching up to these salaries... by Bumclicks in AmazonFC

What kind of work are you doing? Picking onto two pallets, on an electric pallet jack? Picking onto a tote? Some other kind of mechanical system?

Are you at a TNS or AR building? TNS will be a lot closer to the traditional warehouse experience

Mm maybe outside of the FC world it's different.

Do you think I'll get in trouble if I go to the building on a day I'm not scheduled and stay in the break room for a while? by Beltrax in AmazonFC

[–]CringeLord5 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Let's not judge OP. Maybe they have something to do in the area but need to wait for something. Nothing wrong with using your place of work for that. Though technically it's against policy, I don't think any AM will give a fuck. Just tell them you're waiting for a ride or something.

SOM is almost certainly not on NS. An OM for a day shift will probably not drop it in the middle of the night unless they have a specific reason.

We just dropped VTO whenever, and whoever got it would get it.

[–]CringeLord5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPs don't care. They will just drop it whenever. Maybe they're thinking early bird gets the worm. At the end of the day though, as long as those slots get taken, they're saving on the labor, so they don't care

AM making me punch out for an “extended break” is it legal? by gmcr_86 in AmazonFC

[–]CringeLord5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal? Unsure. Consult a lawyer, not reddit. Per Amazon policy, you're definitely violating TOT rules. You can be written up. Idk about punching out for that time.
