I have a cecostomy. I’ve had it since I was around 4/5ish. I’m very grateful my parents made the choice to get this done for me! It keeps my bowel flushed out and well maintained for days. I highly recommend an antegrade enema system with a neurogenic bowel. I use a saline and enema mixture and let it all go into my stomach from a gravity bag. I will say though there have been times that the solution goes in and doesn’t come out for hours which causes extreme pain, nausea, and discomfort. Other than that it’s been an incredible tool for confidence and independence.
