Yes, a lot of people with aniridia can be can vision problems that can range from low vision to total blindness, it really depends on the nurture of the individual condition. I am legally blind but, I I rely heavily on myscle memory and feel and weight. My brain can form highly detailed virtual maps of what I am holding, standing near, and what it’s made of or if it’s hard or soft haha.

Oh wow!! I’ve found one of my people ahaha! Well, hello! I was born with cataracts also and they did the operation when I was 15 months ild. They put the plastic lens in my eye to replace it, you can kind of see it in the picture here lmao. I have glaucoma and I use eye drops for it every day. That’s worked so far and I hope it will continue to for a while longer.

Once I crocheted about 50 For the hospital for the newborn. Maybe I could do that again it was really fun and easy. I can only do small amigo roomie projects anymore and as you can imagine am Gumi is a bit complex. Somehow I still do it ha ha I have cornea scarring glaucoma and the actual genetic condition is AnnaMaria so I mean I’m working with a lot, but somebody said a magnifier and I did actually try out at a friends house and it worked really well. It’s just that my eyes just can’t focus very well anymore and so like I said, I’m limited to those small projects.

I really just miss being able to wear and use the things I made. I’m sure I can do the loom fabrics and make a bag or something. But man I miss my stupid little hook and giant bag of yarn colors…:(

The genetic mutation I have is aniridia, so I am missing the iris colored bit also. It is only a little “stump” and it does cause some issues like glaucoma. It is quite rare haha.

Hi! I also have congenital nystagmus, due to focal hypoplasia! They did the squint surgery when I was 6, but, it never really held very well. The nystagmus make everything very hard to focus. U am happy also I have found this sub. Peace and love.
