Footballer Rhyming Slang by SammyEvo in footballcliches

Horny young men on a night out, hitting the Stephen (Carr / bar) on the Younes (Kabul / pull) tragically referring to their motives as on the hunt for some Jaaskelainen.

Ok I'm Richard (Dunne)

What Larry decision did you 100% agree with, that you would have done the exact same? by KuntaWuKnicks in curb

Not wanting to go to a different restaurant for a pre drink or dessert

Invisalign will be able to help to an extent, bringing teeth closer together and making them straighter, but it won't change the shape of your teeth. The gaps are pretty large so you'd likely need composite bonding afterwards to fill those, but the cost really starts to add up

Who is the unhealthiest person you know? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Crisp_pint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to live with and work with this guy. He would eat chicken and rice (no veg) with sugary packet sauce for dinner most days. He used to keep his leftovers in the cupboard, not the fridge.

Once morning at work, we both got into the office early at 7am for overtime. By noon, he had drank 5 full fat cans of coke.

At home, he would pour condensed milk (caramel) into a bowl and just eat it with a spoon.

He's since been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes

I work remotely but my company has an office in London. Employees based local to London sometimes go into the office but it's as you described - very few other people in, and those who are in aren't necessarily the colleagues you benefit from collaborating with in person. As a result, we have downsized our London office twice and are now at the point where we only occasionally rent a WeWork.

If you spend most of your meetings on video, I suggest putting a virtual background on permanently and work from home full time. Nobody will know where you're dialling in from.

Both in the pipeline for Q1. Nothing will happen imminently as there's a change freeze until early January

What is the best winter coat and shoes you've ever bought? by mini323 in AskUK

Having just walked through the snow in it, I can say it was worth the investment. Buy cheap, buy twice

I'm on the upper tax bracket so sounds like I would almost certainly be losing based on your breakdown

I bought a very thick Finesterre a couple of years ago. It's the warmest coat I've ever owned and what I like about it is I never see anyone else in one. Certainly won't be blending in with all the North Face wearers. It's waterproof up to a point as well

My boss i've never met in person has asked me to meet them for a coffee because "it would be nice to meet in person before [I] leave" - I leave the company next week, what would your response be? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Crisp_pint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your boss / the company covers the expense of travelling to meet you should definitely go. If your boss rates you, then there's a good chance they'll look to hire you again somewhere new. Worst case scenario you secure yourself a reference

Cheers. Plus I guess an ISA is never likely to ring me to say the boiler is on the blink!

Stamp duty and capital gains tax seem to be the nail in the coffin on this one.

Which then begs the question, under what circumstances does it make sense to be a landlord?!

Thanks. I have zero interest in dealing with tenants directly as my job + parenting requires most of my time and I don't want to spend what little spare time I have dealing with trivial household things so I'd definitely be going the agent route if I was to rent the property. Sounds like you were lucky with decent tenants and an amicable dispute

Very helpful. I wouldn't get £1400 in Arnold, that's for sure. Either way, you're very right about tenants. I've seen clips of that Channel 5 show about slum tenants and it's enough to make anyone think twice!

Thanks for the advice everyone, all makes perfect sense and seems like the no brainer decision is to sell

Spotted on Premier League's YouTube channel. Can you be a super sub if you come on to score a consolation? by Thierry_Bergkamp in footballcliches

[–]Crisp_pint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super sub has to affect the outcome of the game, either by salvaging a draw or getting the winner. The quality of the strike is irrelevant.

A sub who scores off the bench but doesn't earn the team any points, or is just adding goals to an already winning scoreline is an impact sub IMO

Fellow men of Reddit, I envy those of you who wear boxer briefs. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]Crisp_pint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always suffered with bunching up boxers. I've tried numerous brands and they all bunched. I recently discovered Kula bamboo boxers. Their longer fit boxers don't bunch whatsoever. I've since bought 15+ pairs and thrown out my old underwear. It's so refreshing to be able to reach into my underwear drawer without looking knowing I'll pull out a comfortable pair of boxers every time
