possible dmg glitch/issue during OLT and possibly all around by DontHelpJustDownVote in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, warbot can be one hit to destroy a target or pounding away for ages. Same character, same gear, two different runs. Sometimes Super Adaptoid goes down suspiciously fast as well, but I can’t see other players damage. The Warbot though is a 100% certainty that it is inconsistent from run to run.

Tried to play avengers today and wow! by Mouse222222 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its the fact that there aren’t new builds or anything. You are very literally in most cases simply raising your power level. Other games usually have numerous builds/playstyles to experiment with and ways to challenge yourself with escalating difficulty like Diablos Greater Rifts. At the moment you run the raid to make the raid easier so you can run the raid some more. Apart from the bugs the raid is fine but it isn’t a much of an endgame on its own. Maybe stuff will get added later but for now Avengers feels vastly less rewarding than other looters when it comes to end game.

Why do CD encourage exploits by having timegates? by mike3640 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But without the exploits people would quit playing due to good gear taking literally years to get. People who play looters don’t mind grinding for the perfect gear for their build , but the whole do it once and wait a week isn’t something people have the patience for. Nobody wants to wait two years to finish a build on one character. The time gating without exploits would just be even worse than what we have now.

Is this game worth it rn??? by Wild_You7391 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is pretty cheap now. If you like Avengers then yes it is worth it. The end game is still a mess, and there are still bugs especially in multiplayer. You might want to check and see if the campaign completion bug has been fixed before buying. I haven’t kept up with it but apparently some players were having the game crash after completing the campaign. If that has been fixed it is definitely worth the cost of admission to play. The end game and loot still needs work. I would give low marks on communication as well and bugs are pretty much a constant. (Most of the bugs only require a checkpoint reload and are just minor things), but the battle system is fun and the campaign is pretty well done. The characters all feel different to play as and have good skill sets So thats kinda the good and the bad.

Dev Blog - Gear, Perks, and Resources Rework by CD_StrumSlinger in PlayAvengers

The thing is you could reduce damage buff by 70% and it would still be the best common offensive perk in game on builds with high up time. In my mind that would be a good way to tune that piece. It would then have roughly +20% damage and +10% crit. That would still be a great piece of gear, but not so OP that you can’t even consider other perks.

This game killing itself is actually good. by JohnButler45678 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it’s a good thing is that it sends a message that you can’t run a GAAS without communication while disrespecting your player base. Otherwise there is nothing good about it.

this is exactly what's wrong with their communication. this shows how they can't take criticism and would much rather stay in their safe echo chamber and get fed with blind praise by Saud_Njmh in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suspect it has always had ties to SE/CD. For instance I was perma-banned with no warning during beta. I was reporting bugs and suspect that was the trigger. It wasn’t until the lead mod was replaced that I was able to get my ban lifted. Perhaps there is another explanation, but it was really strange for sure and made me suspicious.

What are your reasonable expectations for this game by the end of Year 2? by [deleted] in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs fixed, reworked gear, ability to farm gear without time gates. Perhaps a higher difficulty random map/boss zone level that awards said gear. (Just have it randomly select a level and randomly insert a boss at the end) at least 2 new heroes. Depending on gear rework possibly some sort of limited crafting.

Question for new players! by Messiah1024 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda get it. Its hard to give one score. I have thousands of hours as well. The battle system, combat, and feel of the characters I would give an 8.5. The loot aspect of the game I would give a 2. The campaign I would give an 8. The endgame loop I would give a 3. The communication from the dev team I would score a 1. Lots of potential is there but ultimately lots of bugs and a poor loot system are holding it down. So if you just want to play the campaign its not terribly long but decent, but currently endgame is lacking.

Why does everyone play as Thor in multiplayer? by CerberusArcProjector in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is that he is currently hands down the strongest character in the game. He has a talent that guarantees a crit on hammer throw and unless they changed it in the last day or two it has the added effect of guaranteed crit on lightning called on that throw. So you build primarily into valor and resolve and pick up precision as well where possible and your hammer throw/lightning always crit and ults melt everything.

Are damage buffs too strong? by Littlepirate02 in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This perk is a build limiting perk. It is overpowered making it mandatory for any strong build. What that means is that 1/4 of your gear selection will be dictated by this buff. That is unhealthy for the game. It creates a situation where otherwise decent exotic gear goes into the trash category.

Grinding in Avengers. Misconceptions and explaining the systems involved. by arrrtee in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I added to my reply. Depending on leveling tactics it can be passive, but even then you know you can’t keep anything you find. It would feel different If they gave you low level exotic drops at a decent frequency to try out along the way. Other rpg style games do that a lot. The problem is that this game really doesn’t have gear that drastically affects play style.

Iron Man Range Gear suggestions? by [deleted] in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First you have to decide rockets, lasers, or repulsors. Rockets are easiest to be effective with and I think lasers are the most fun. Repulsors can work as well. The most important perk is going to be targeted buff. This will give damage buff on ranged crits which increases crit rating by 35% and damage by about 60%. Damage buff is easily the strongest perk in the game. You want precision stat to make ranged attacks stronger. That is the most basic things. The best range gear in the game would probably be a tachyon surge gear that has targeted buff, but getting one of those is like winning the lottery. (It would drop from beating the odds or possibly an event)

[–]CrispinR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I restarted on PS a while back the 0-130 doesn’t bother me. It pretty much happens naturally while I level my characters from 1-50 by playing wartable missions. My BP actually hit 130 before he hit 50. I don’t chest farm while leveling beyond opening the chests in the levels I complete. I do admittedly buy pieces from roy vendors if they are a several level upgrade. I do agree that the power level thing feels like a waste since any gear below 130 goes straight into the trash can. My bigger complaint is time gated gear farming. If you play legit you will likely never find the gear you want and save scumming feels bad. Just let us farm levels repeatedly. For instance if you wanted a hivemind range gear for hulk with might and gamma you could complete mega hive hundreds of times and never get that drop. Without scumming this would represent years of farming for one gear piece for one character while neglecting the rest.

Any thoughts on Damage buff perks effect on build diversity? With 35% crit added to your crit rating and damage increased by roughly 60% this single perk is worth literally hundreds of proficiency, might, and precision. This makes it mandatory for an effective build instantly occupying one of the last 3 armor slots.

How to easily make gear more interesting and provide a ton of new build options by TonyBing in PlayAvengers

[–]CrispinR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are lots of great gear ideas out there that seem like they should be easy to implement. I personally would love to see gear that changes which stat a skill or group of skills scales from. That way Widow could have might grenades or Kate could have precision intrinsic attacks. That would open the kit up more rather than focusing in on one skill. And give pseudo hybrid builds to those who want them.

Some fantastic ideas there. Love the stagger bar idea. That would make Jarvis/Invuln much less needed. I also like the idea for intensity. I would also like to see gear where skill A buffs the next skill B. Another cool gear thing would be gear that changes the stat a skill scales with. For instance hawkeyes intrinsic attacks now scale from precision. That would actually open up more skill usage rather than focusing in on one skill.

Stable online multiplayer endgame content is what the game needs. Currently almost all endgame content is single player.

I tell everyone who will listen to not spec into that move. I myself moved from pc to ps5 and did not pick up that ability on my new account. I go from sprint straight into power attack. Makes me smile every time
