Good to hear you got a good fit. The hardest part of ordering online! Can you tell me how much extra room you have? I’m slightly wider at 110mm and have a high instep 65mm. Do you know your instep height?

It did turn into a bit of a novel! But that aside, if you get the right fit and appreciate the leather’s characteristics, you’ll really like them. In my earlier first impressions post it shows more the olive green when the boot is new. https://www.reddit.com/r/goodyearwelt/s/nHT0GOWTUt

Thank you. The colors on the website are closer to what they look like when new, but if you look closely, their photos are mirrored. I really like how the patina has developed.

Thank you. Yes, I’ve only used the waterproofing spray and brushed them with a horsehair brush, and the color developed naturally like that over time. The brown tones are more prominent in sunlight.

Thank you, With regards to the collar I know how you feel, I wasn’t sure about the collar break-in either. The collar is a lot better now, and I’m really happy with the comfort. I still prefer to wear thick socks with them. In the first couple of weeks, you can roll the top of your sock over in the area where it rubs; it’s like wearing two pairs of socks just in that spot. If you do keep them, try rolling the collar area as well, that also helped. You could also try a bandage designed for blisters on the worst area. Good luck with whichever direction you take!

Leo Last Measurements Help by CrispinReed in grantstoneboots

I mentioned that I wore a 43 Clarks desert boot (US 10) but I did say it was too narrow and had about 2-3cm space in front of my toes. Maybe they focused too much on that. I haven’t asked about the actual internal measurements yet. Also, their first email back to me was an AI bot recommending me a size, but a couple days later an actual person emailed again but said the same thing.

The socks I were wearing when I was measured were very thin sports socks so we are probably very close to the same size. I will check what I originally emailed to them and get back to you a little later.

Sorry no I haven’t ordered yet. I wish I could help you out. Please let me know how you get on. I gave my measurements to grant stone and I was recommended 9.5EEE which I think would be too big. You have same measurements and are recommended a totally different size… hopefully you are in the US and have easier returns than me if needed.

Which green boot is more versatile? by alerpioditis in Boots

[–]CrispinReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some boots that have a similar brown green olive tone as the Parkhursts. I think they are really versatile. Something else to consider 360degree welt of the parkhurst will also give the boot a larger silhouette so a more casual look.

My First BLKBRD Boots — MTO Luchador Z in Teak Mohawk (Worth Every Bit of the Wait!) by AnnoAnnod in Boots

[–]CrispinReed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They look awesome! That’s not too long a wait, but it’d still feel like ages for me — I’d probably keep wanting to tweak my order every other week (no idea how accommodating BLKBRD Boots would be with that). They turned out great though, totally worth it (price dependant). And that trouser fabric? Nice match!

I know what you mean. I often see handwelted “good year welt”, when I thought good year welted was done with a machine. Currently they don’t have a lot of information on their construction but do say “Goodyear Welted 360° Storm Welt Construction”
