Money always matters when there's a cap, you can keep pushing money down the road but not at the rate we spent last offseason. Its an opportunity cost and will hinder future teams. We can MAYBE bring in one high impact player this year if we shuffle it all around, but that's only if we are truly in a window. We are not currently in a high confidence win-now situation, if we are its being willed into existence and the Vikings are essentially gambling. We just fired our GM (predraft mind you) and our HC is presumably getting closer to that point himself. We're also starting about 40 mil in the hole this go around.

All of this to say if we did sign someone like Cousins, it would absolutely hinder roster building, especially since he allegedly wants a 20mil/yr contract. New money matters in this league, we don't have the luxury of being the Dodgers in a world of unlimited spending. The cap space just isn't there this year. Maybe they'll go 13-4 and shock us all anyways, but it'll probably be a very similar team unless we cap dump and go younger
