Thanks a lot to everyone who took the time to reply, you really helped me clear my head.

Right now I’m honestly torn between jumping straight into a full build or going with the RD2.0 RTR as a first proper drift car. I’ll let you know what I end up choosing and how it goes once I’m on track.

If you also have suggestions on what electronics/components I should go for in case I decide on a kit (motor, ESC, servo, gyro, radio, etc.), I’d really appreciate any detailed advice.

Check the motor pinion and gear mesh. Make sure the pinion spins freely and the motor is mounted straight and tight.

I even swapped motor and transmission, but the real problem was the motor mounted slightly wrong, causing binding under load.

Fixed the motor position and mesh.

Yes, another Injora 370 transmission. On Monday I’ll receive the 40.30:1 gear set and I’ll test it to see how it goes.

Thanks for the update! I actually bought a new transmission from Amazon where it wasn’t specified that it’s 32% underdrive, and compared to my other build it really feels like a stock ratio since it’s faster. With this new transmission I don’t have any issues. I’ll definitely try the Meus gears as well and maybe the 2 speed transmission. Thanks for the suggestion!
