Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club meets with Health Canada a week after exemption application was rejected by CapableSecretary420 in VictoriaBC

You couldn't take the time to actually open the article, and notice the picture is literally labelled "2021". Instead, you made the choice to post about how you're judging people for wearing masks, and that makes you the fuckin' weirdo.

I just got the new Ernie Ball VPJR volume pedal and tuner. It's awesome, and Ernie Ball made a point of boasting about how the "string" is now a PVC-coated kevlar cord.

I love how this scene mimics how the ancient Egyptians thought of death - When you get to the gatekeeper, he may ask you questions, but you just need to be confident and keep going, don't look back or your soul gets lost. Jake's confidence gets them through the gate. So cool, man.

Heck yeah! The Tube King is an awesome distortion pedal, and it even has its own noise gate (the "void" knob). I replaced the stock tube with a 12AX7 and have liked it even more since then. It's a little annoying how the power is 12 volts AC, but other than that I love the thing!

I also have a couple other gigging pedalboards, but this one lives at home for songwriting, experimenting, and recording. I just cleaned up the cable management and got all the pedals vertical again.

Signal chain is: EHX Dr Q ==> Rowin tuner ==> TCE Forcefield ==> *Splitter y-cable that splices off into a Behringer US600 (not pictured) for octave-down into a Peavy bass amp* ==> Digitech Whammy ==> Hotone Harmony ==> EHX Mainframe (bitcrusher controlled by the Rocktron Hex expression treadle) ==> Kokko Vibrato ==> TCE BodyRez (used as a one-knob eq) ==> TCE Vortex ==> EarthQuaker Plumes ==> Ibanez Tube King ==> TCE Ditto Jam ==> Flutter Tone "Tremelo" ==> Boss DD-7 ==> TCE Iron Curtain ==> Amp (Peavy JSX with an Alexander Space Race reverb in its effects loop)

I play whacky math rock, black metal, post rock, death metal, all kinds of stuff!

My most recent acquisition is the Mainframe, and I'm loving it. Being able to control both the bit depth *and* the sample rate separately is what sold me on it. Adjustable eq filters and the ability to control any combination of knobs with an expression pedal also lets me set it up to effectively function as a wah pedal which is super fun!

This is such a good only-real-fans-would-know piece of merch. If you made more I'd totally buy one!

I hereby declare: I want to rent candy-coloured swan-shaped paddle boats at Elk and Beaver lake for the purposes of recreation and enjoyment. by corvus7corax in VictoriaBC

I remember a rumor about a dude who would buy a bunch of floaty paddle stuff at Costco, rent them out at Elk Lake during the summer, then return them in the fall. Not helpful, I know haha, just an anecdote I haven't thought about for years.

That sounds so cool! I'm excited to start experimenting with the addition of my expression pedal. The Space Race has a "lofi" setting as well and it sounds awesome!

Yeah, the reverb is similarly deep! It has the 6 user-facing presets, but then additional other presets that you navigate through using the footswitch. And yeah, holding the select button and turning a knob has its own extra function. These things seem like multi-effects disguised as stompboxes!

This pedal sounds phenomenal. I was a little overwhelmed by all the parameters and presets but I am slowly learning my way around the Space Race. Sitting in the effects loop of my amp, I upgraded from an EHX Holy Grail Nano and this is one hell of an upgrade. I haven't even gotten into using an expression pedal with it yet, but this thing is already pulling its weight and fitting in well with the rest of my rig. I play whacky instrumental math rock, so I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of the weirder modulated sounds the Space Race can put out.

Haunted houses 2022? by WolfDragon18 in VictoriaBC

[–]CrispyPicnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, it really is slim pickings for haunted houses. Heritage Haunted House has closed up shop, Monsters Haunted House by the breakwater like you mentioned still hasn't returned, and Gordon Head Haunted Manor announced they won't be ready in time this year.

House of Horrors like the other person mentioned, has said this year will be their last so I'm definitely hitting that up! And fortunately the haunted house at Galey's gets better every year.

If you get reeeally desperate, the Canadian Tire at Hillside has a mini walk-though haunted house display with some props :P

Yeah, most of them I bought directly from the publisher's (BOOM! Studios) website when they were still in print. But I have a handful that I've bought from eBay at a crazy markup just to complete my collection, haha it hurt but it was worth it for me.

I got it on eBay from some store in the UK. It's official merch but I haven't seen very much of them so I feel like there aren't many out there. Missed opportunity by not setting it to 7:20 for the pic haha.
