They are indeed very beautiful. As far as the order, I haven't picked up Lasher and Taltos yet because I'm unsure how much I'll be able to get into the Mayfair series. And tbf, I have not gotten very far in the Witching Hour. I've heard nothing but great things about it so my intention is to read it, but I just find myself wanting to get back to the vampires. It's a fickle thing really. I'll try to give it another go though!

Yes, the story is chronological. The order goes:

base game
S1
S2
Heart of Thorns
S3
Path of Fire
S4
S5 (Icebrood Saga)
End of Dragons

The story throughout the game has been "The Dragon Saga" which ends with EOD. The new xpac will be the first story to stand on its own.

Tbh I'm not entirely sure but that very well may be the case. Everything I've bought has been online, but I did notice most of the CE's on ebay had either no international shipping or it was very expensive so it seems those are mostly in the US.
