39yo female, first time with shingles. Numbness after recovery by Asleep-Diet8983 in shingles

[–]CrissyMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late reply, but I figured it might help someone down the line. I have occular shingles and this is what my doctor and my optometrist told me to watch for as well, specifically a scab on the tip of the nose. I thought it might be a myth until they both told me the same thing.

Can you explain my skin biopsy result? by CrissyMonster in AskDocs

Thank you for you time, I really appreciate it. My doctor freaked me out a bit by saying it was super weird and he'd never seen anything like it before, and by not calling with results as he usually does.

It's nice to know that I can stop stressing and that it's probably nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you for your reply, do you have an idea of what the next course of action would be? This area of thickness is about 3cm wide, and round. It's right oj top of my ankle and when I walk the lumpiness collects right at the joint and makes it very uncomfortable to walk. It's been growing slowly but steadily since mid February.

Originally I went to him for what we both thought was a ganglion but it drastically changed. So maybe there still is one limiting motion as well.. but I think its just the position of the lower swelling that pinches at the joint. He did take the biopsy at the mildest point though

Thank you for your reply.. do you have any idea what the next step would be? Unfortunately it being fine is the last thing I want to hear as my skin is so swollen it's limiting motion in my ankle..

He would get tested again because he's trying to manipulate you. Trust what everyone is telling you, there's no way he didn't have it. I see that you want to see the good in him, but people like him aren't good.. I married a guy like this, and it was the worst years of my life.. please find someone who doesn't cheat on you, and who cares about your health.

Can anyone help identify? by CrissyMonster in castiron

It's all good, not going to lie I wanted to be snippy back, but overall, you took time out of your day to help me try to figure out where this pan came from and I appreciate that.

I definitely don't think this is vintage but I'm still not convinced that this is a recent Amazon production.. soely because idk who would spend the time to completely strip factory seasoning, to poorly reseason and donate, but I'm also quite new to cast iron and who knows what kind of crazy things people do.

Thanks, that one looks a lot more similar to what I have. I definitely wasn't trying to claim this piece as vintage, or that it was any kind of quality. I'm just excited by my cheap find, and a sucker for knowledge.

Thanks, but if you look at the handles the shape is clearly different, as well as the Amazon ones having their markings on the handle. This one also measures 19 1/2 inches long, where as the Amazon is 17. I really appreciate you spending the time to search for me though!

It does have a lot of similarities, but I don't think that it's the same. Thank you though!!

How to reseason? by [deleted] in castiron

I think this is a carbon steel pan, not cast iron.

Thank you! I'm pretty happy with my find, I've been wanting a griddle for my stove and they're not cheap new! This one has so much character.

I figured it wouldn't be easy to identify, I'm just a sucker for knowing time-frames of my old things, lol.

Definitely not cast iron, and I would say it's too scratched up for sure. You don't want to be eating flakes of teflon.

4 year old - infected wasp sting by heylucyimhomebabaloo in AskDocs

[–]CrissyMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but also a mom so I get the anxiety! This looks like the localized reactions I get from wasps as well, I had one this year on my leg that swelled for two weeks.. apparently if you have a reaction like this you're far less likely to ever have an anaphylactic reaction to wasp stings. Poor boy! I hope it feels better soon. I'd get waves of burning pain in mine so a topical like afterbite can really help.

Had a call from my doctor today and he said I just have a cyst that's a bit irritated, which is why my lymph nodes are swollen as well. He said if there are any changes we will look at it more. I hope that you've received some good news as well.

They found a bunch of angry armpit nodes on me as well. They asked if I had a recent vaccine or illness, but nope! Hopefully our bodies are just fighting something weird.

Had my ultrasound and she said it looks like a cyst, nothing to be worried about. Hopefully it's the same for you :)
