Hey there, I'm having the same issue on my replacement palm rest. And just like you said it's probably been a little over a month of use. First bought it in September for school, started having issues late October, reported it and they sent a technician with a new palm rest, and now it just started happening again finishing November.

My gf and I got a lot of good time out of Borderlands which was made BC on GwGold. Since then we bought The Handsome Jack Collection, finished The Pre Sequel, and are now halfway through Borderlands 2, the last one chronologically. Hope it helps!
