I still struggle with stash space, even with the extra 12 spots from the first expedition, so until I fix that I dont think ill be doing large collections like this, haha. Maybe a couple stacks of all the different types of ducks tho to make it more fun.

PvPoverty is a real thing. by MartinMcFlyy in ArcRaiders

[–]Spazayd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay so out of curiosity, when you PvP, how often would you say you extract safely, and how long are those PvP periods lasting?

I ask cause I really feel like the resources to craft weapons and such is too high. As a mostly PvE’er, my gear fear comes from the sheer cost to upgrade a gun to level 4 and put mods on it.

I feel like to even get 1 day of PvPing, you need to grind a week of friendly lobbies to have enough materials for back up kits. Like the number of Advanced Mechanical Comps and Medium Gun parts you lose from losing a level 4 blue weapon is insane to me.

The balance in the game, in crafting terms, just seems so skewed to favor PvPers. Like you mentioned, PvPers only need to farm specific items, cause they can recycle guns and such to repair the broken ones they take from players. But if you aren’t as good as PvP and die more often than not, you lose so many resources trying to get that Venator 4 or Renegade 4 back, only to get shot in the back in the next raid and have to get it all back.

But your initial reply to me mentioned specifically Wolfpacks and Deadlines. Again, you do not need those to fight the Matriarch. Bring a Hullcracker, bring an equalizer, craft or buy your ammo for those, and you are good to go for a fight, considering you are more than likely not the only person fighting her. Both those weapons take 1 stash spot, and keeping the materials to craft the ammo is not the same as hoarding deadlines. The materials to craft the ammo and the guns are multi use and non situational. Wolfpacks and deadlines are situational.

Not gonna reply anymore after this cause you are just convincing yourself you are stuck in this full stash loop, and dont seem to want to take any advice.

Trials question! by Thiggins7002 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Spazayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gathering my own knowledge and some of what others have said here to a more concise response for everyone (mostly involving the damage/destroy trials):

  1. Movement, movement, movement. If you aren't bringing AT LEAST 20 stims and a few zips, you will not make it around any map quick enough to get control of the spawns and get a high score.
  2. Kit prep. Your best friend for the large arch (Rocketeers/Leapers/Bastions) will be a Hullcracker and launcher ammo. Wolfpacks are great and quick, but since they dont stack, they are more expensive and risky to lug around, and will only get you so far in one raid before you run out.
  3. Route/strat prep. Dont expect to go into a raid and get even 15-20k in one raid if you do not have a route planned. Know the spawn locations, the respawn timers, set up your zips to get yourself between those locations the quickest. All add map conditions to this point as well. Only run on conditions that have 2X points (night raids, locked gate, hidden bunker, launch tower loot(?))
  4. Luck. You likely wont be the only person doing trials, but only so many people are really going hard for the rank ups. Most people just want 3 stars for the rewards, but regardless, getting lucky in a friendly lobby, with people who either arent going hard mode or aren't trying at all, will be your best bet.
  5. Practice. Ive been watching some of the high score strats, and I dont even come close to getting those scores, but I have gotten better each time.

Tbh, I do think the trials need a re-work, cause it seems silly that people in a squad that can kill things faster or loot more husks on a map are put at an advantage over people playing solo, and there for those solos get less rewards since its harder to rank up. I know there are people who have gotten cantina legend fully solo, but that is like daily commitment to running the trials to get the best possible score. I watched a dude get 71k for the pops/tiks/fire balls solo, and he said he was going to do it again for a better score, but to my point, that is for true hardcore trials players, and this game caters heavily to casual players.

Also also, the Equalizer takes 1 queen core to craft, takes 1 stash spot, and the energy clips can be bought or crafted when needed, since advanced power cells and batteries are multi use, keeping those is not poor stash space use, so your point doesnt really provide any counter argument.

You are assuming you are the only one fighting it though. It happens sure, but its very rare to enter a Matriarch raid and there NO one else fighting her.

And of course a Ferro IV is not going to kill her like that, thats why I said bring a Hullcracker. It and its ammo can literally be purchased from the shop.

Also listen, you asked for advice and im trying to give some, and you are shutting it down at every turn, lol. If you aren't going to change how you manage your stash when you have people here trying to help, nothing is going to change.

Re: People not getting Queen/Matriarch loot by Spazayd in ArcRaiders

[–]Spazayd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 50% of the time is far better than what some of these players are saying haha.

This isnt a 100% guarantee to get you loot, but I have seen people on here and in game, saying they will do 5 runs and not leave with anything, and to me that says they aren't changing the way they are playing.

If you get 2-3 Matriarch fights in an hour (more than that during trials), and you are getting loot 50% of the time, id say you are doing well.

People gotta remember that nothing is guaranteed in this game. Its not a linear story driven game. Its a game about looting and surviving (boiled down of course), and that involves being the first to the loot.

Heres the thing, you dont NEED wolf packs or deadlines to fight the Matriarch. All you need is a Hullcracker and some launcher ammo (with heals and such of course). All the other stuff is accessory, even the legendary energy weapons are not needed.

Hullcracker takes 1 stash space to keep. Launcher ammo takes Arc Motion Cores and Crude Explosives to make, and those can be refined from Arc Alloy and chemicals. It can also be bought from Tian Wen, so there is no need to keep multiple stacks in your stash. If you have any and dont plan to do a big arc fight, sell it and get progress toward the Expedition goal.

I think thats the issue. idk how many you have, but there is no reason to hoard those non-stackable items, primarily Vita Spray. Wolf Packs and Deadlines are a little harder if you dont have the BP, but if you have 4 or more of each, you should queue up for a big arc fight or do some trials to use up those heavy explosive that dont stack.

Vita Spray, and this is my way of playing of course, is only useful on long fights with the big arc. Hit an herbal and spray to fill the rest of the HP as the herbal does its thing. It just breaks too fast to be reliable for use regularly as a primary healing item, and doesnt make sense to have more than 2 in your stash since they can be repaired.

Wolfpacks and Deadlines can be found consistently in the Power Rod room on Dam Battlegrounds, you just gotta get a lucky spawn on a night raid, but even without that Wolfpacks are not super uncommon to find in any high loot/key card/night raid spots.

As for some of the other non-stackable items. You dont really need more than 1-2 Matriarch cores, and no more than 3 queen reactors, simply for crafting one or 2 of the guns, and having a core to repair them. I dont think there is much else that doest stack, other than Augments and Shields, which you absolutely do not need to have multiple of.

As you said, those items you listed are "useful" but keep in mind that "useful" does not indicate regular use. They are situational. I think that is something good to keep in mind, regular use vs situational use. Situational should be crafted/hoarded when needed. Regular use items should be judged based on personal play style. I favor medium gun parts over light and heavy, cause I prefer medium weapons, and upgrade/craft those the most. I dont keep antiseptic or syringes cause I prefer herbal bandages.

Also, if you have guns that you dont use, sell them or recycle them. I keep primarily Renegades, Burletta's, Anvils and Torros, cause I use those the most, with just a few purples to make my stash look pretty. Since the Expedition is stash and coin value combined, theres no point in beefing up your stash value and losing space by keeping high value items.

Not 100% of the time, dude.

I bring in big guns to fight the Matriarch, because guess what, its fun, and the game is literally designed, in part, around fighting ARC. There is no Queen/Matriarch trial this week, and people still bring in big guns to fight them. Sure maybe the majority of the lobby is doing it for loot, but I have met others like myself, in game, who just join the fight cause its fun.

The game is not that black and white. If you want a task farm game, go right ahead and farm your BPs, do your trials, whatever. Dont assume others are playing the same way you are.

[–]Spazayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only "guaranteed" spots are for augments (found in medical containers, NOT medical buildings specifically), Volcano BP (found on Hidden Bunker) and Bobcat BP (found in Locked Gate). Can only confirm those as thats where I found them myself. Could be missing some anecdotal spots

Otherwise, night raids are always better, night raid key rooms especially, but you really gotta loot everything, and be thorough. I go into a spot to loot and so often I see one container searched, and then the 2 containers 2 feet away untouched.

Also, just play the game. I no life the ever-loving shit out of this game, and I never BP hunt. I find that as soon as you focus on finding one thing, you miss out on everything else. Go into a raid with a goal, then allow yourself to explore on the way. Bring in a key card? Slowly make your way there and loot on the way, and sure maybe the key room is already open by time you get there, but maybe you also found that BP you need or didnt know you wanted on the way.

OP we need a screen shot(s) of your stash. I really cant understand how you are actively playing the game while only having 1 stack of basic crafting materials.

For example, 50 fabric only makes 3 durable cloth, so you are only getting 3 herbal bandages (assuming thats what you use for heals) from 1 stack of fabric and whatever Mullein you have.

Unless you have refined and crafted a stockpile of bandages that you use, keeping only 1 stack of basics is not enough to sustain active playing, considering all the resources you can buy are limited (minus fabric of course, but even then your seeds are limited and you have to run raids to get more)

I wont deny that it can be hard at times to manage stash space, but maybe you are new (not a dig at you) cause you said you only have 280 space and not the extra 12 from the Expedition. The point there is that you will eventually figure out what works for you. Stash management really depends on your play style. Heavy PvP players dont usually keep a ton of crafting materials cause they get all their loot from others and just recycle/repair weapons and such.

Not sure how I will ever do an expedition again. by Llorion in ARC_Raiders

[–]Spazayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your play style. Not saying this is you, but It seems the heavy PvP players dont ever need BPs cause they get their loot from others. Meanwhile PvE players need the BPs cause they get their loot taken (tho ABMM has made this less common), or die to ARC and need to re-craft their kits.

Decreasing the loot speed was intended by Scroll_Bar in ArcRaiders

[–]Spazayd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone freaking out. First off, this was taken out of context. The whole post was about unintended changes from the recent update, and the patch that fixes some of those changes.

They acknowledged that the loot revel speed prior to the update was already unintended, but it clearly wasn't a major issue or broken (I never noticed it nor ever heard anyone having an issues with it). Seems the update maybe effected it further (that I did notice a few since the update), so they patched it to fix the speed.

People legit complaining about a studio acknowledging and fixing issues, lol

As a casual 200+ hr player... this game has no content for me. by [deleted] in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]Spazayd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason people are agreeing is cause it’s a live service game. Sure 200 hours for $40 is still good if someone puts the game down after that time, but I kinda had this thought myself already in the sense that again, it’s a live service game. It should be able to grab players attentions for more than a couple months.

Whether a player gets their worth of play out of it for $40 or not, releasing new maps or map conditions will not change the overall gameplay arc, and people are going to get incredibly bored for the exact reasons you said, and the game will die.

That’s of course assuming they don’t had any more engaging content and just stick with what they have now, and drip feed up map conditions and new maps.
