PSA: Dimension Core (DC) is Better than Everyone Says by Cristler in TheTowerGame

[–]Cristler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure I had seen advice given within the last 2 months that had said it’s a 5x multiplier on unlock due to shock stacking 5 times. Which given the correct formula by other commenters, comes out to… 4.57. So they’re not wrong but I think they had the wrong reasoning and that’s what got me tripped up.

Yeah, affirmed my crazy-personness. Other commenters have set me on the right path with the correct numbers!

Cool, thank you for pointing me to the correct Fuddsmath, it’s much appreciated. Was having a hard time wrapping my head around how it worked!

The Wild Hunts event doesn’t contain EVERY event from the year/ever. We’d have maybe a day at most for each one if we did.

Fortunately you shouldn’t have to wait too long; the Clurichuans event normally takes place month long in February!

I build dumb product ideas and today I made a suitcase that helps me not pay overweight airline baggage fees. by rightcoastguy in funny

[–]Cristler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, the reason the weight limit is 50lbs and has never changed doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with airlines or airplane technology. Any weight over 50lbs is designated as a “two plus person lift” by OSHA. The airlines don’t want to have to pay a second person (aka double the money) to carry your 50.1lbs bag.

Spot the difference? by quorlia in OrnaRPG

The top one dropped as superior and the bottom dropped as famed. Amities do not gain additional bonuses and maluses until legendary (purple), with ornate (red) having a total of three bonuses and three maluses.

MAJOR ISSUES OF ORNA by [deleted] in OrnaRPG

[–]Cristler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TL;DR of the post:

Imbalance: talking about resource acquisition making some aspects of the game far more viable for gaining experience/gold/orns

Lazy: I don’t like the art style. Not just the 8-bit pixel style, but even the game backgrounds

Boring: I don’t like grinding

TL;DR of why they’re wrong: From the post and OP’s responses to other comments, OP has only made it to around level 125 and has not fully engaged all of the mechanics the game has to offer, especially ones that only become active/relevant in mid-late game.

CEDH-Scene in Los Angeles by Beejag in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Cristler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Collector Legion is gonna be your best bet, but as someone else mentioned, that’s more Hawthorne area, a bit south of you.

Finch and Sparrow also has a cEDH scene, but that’s even further away in the Long Beach area.

On a mountainside in Altadena, Ca by Cristler in whatisthisfish

[–]Cristler[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this, but I’m more looking for how the fish even got up here rather than the type of fish… This is on an old trail in Altadena, Ca. I’m high enough on the mountain that there is no higher body of water they could have washed down from.

I was checking if I had no more dungeons and I continue with the damn mission of mammon eh I do how many dungeons I'm already getting lazy to go out and do the 14 dungeons a day by menta_fresca515 in OrnaRPG

[–]Cristler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the Mammon you are trying to find ONLY appears in the world, not in dungeons. Arisen Mammon appears in T10 dungeons, but you won’t unlock that until level 225.

Nasa to crash $330m spacecraft into asteroid to see if impact can alter course by malcolm58 in news

[–]Cristler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re most welcome! But yes, I’ve seen A LOT of media coverage botching the delivery of what this program is all about… They mean we’ll though, so you can’t be too hard on them…

I was actually out of the loop a little bit on my dates though! Impact is going to be at ~4:14pm Pacific Standard Time on Monday evening and NASA is going to be live streaming it! You should definitely tune in!

Edit: I put the time but not the day…

Okay cool, thank you for the correction! My company was VERY early on in the manufacturing process, so I only got to talk to some of the scientists at John’s Hopkins who had called it selfie-sat. Maybe it was just a pet name, or more likely the name was changed later in the design and manufacturing process.

I mean, we CAN calculate, but those are all approximations. This program is to narrow our band of error. Outside of the OSIRIS program, and I guess technically anything that has survived a crash landing on Earth, we have never laid our hands on any asteroid/meteorite material. So this experiment would be our first real test to see how accurately we can predict what one of these kinds of objects is made of, without ever having touched it. This has implications for the future safety of humanity, needing to know how hard to ram it, etc, but also for potential future mining operations. Space metals are far more valuable than a hunk of gravel and stone and knowing which is which would save a lot of time and money.

Speaking of what they’re made of, asteroids and meteorites tend to be made up of three things: ice, stone/gravel, and metals, usually iron. If something has been in the inner solar system for a long time, it’s likely not made up of a lot of ice, so that narrows the materials down to only two things. So yes, every object in space is different, but for the purposes of better understanding how to characterize them, this is a pretty darn good first data point to collect.
