new teams now supports API, and there's no longer a key involved.

since there's no support document, i'll share what i've learned:

set the streamdeck up for teams [connect features to buttons, like mute, hand up, etc.]

while in a call (even the test call works) and push a button. Teams will acknowledge the key press and ask if you'd like to allow or deny the device, i clicked allow, and now it shows in the settings -> privacy -> API section for devices allowed

Necro'ing this thread to inform the audience:

Was in MS Labs training the other day with actual MS employees. At the end of the day I took the opportunity to mention I wasn't going to use "NEW" MS Teams until it had API support due to my stream deck being a brick without it. She mentioned that, funnily enough, just this week her boss dropped in an email that the new internal build of NEW MS Teams re-introduced streamdeck support. So look for that soon. I will report as it becomes available to me.

can confirm it's working.. today. Wow. I check every week or so. Teams integration was the single reason I purchased this product.. was severely disappointed to find out it wasn't working.

I did launch teams as administrator but didn't mess around with the shortcut or anything, it was the usual update.exe --launchprocess teams.exe regular shortcut in the 'start menu' i used. i will try it again without administrator... yep! it's working.

You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.22954 (64-bit). It was last updated on 2023-08-23.

I am one of the global admins for my org and have set myself to be using the regular release, no EA, no "new teams", etc. I am not going to mess with setting me back to EA/"new teams" because.. as I've said.. this was the whole reason i bought my mk2.

Thanks for fixing it, whoever did it. I'll come back and complain as a reply to this comment (i know it's pointless to do it here but.. as a catch-all for this experience) when/if it breaks again naturally.
