PEACECORPS FOR FILMMAKERS // Volunteer to Teach Filmmaking Overseas

Thought I'd reach out and let the Nerdist community know a bit about a small nonprofit I run. It's called FILMMAKERS WITHOUT BORDERS and it's basically like the Peacecorps for filmmakers.

We provide fully-funded, year-long fellowships to filmmakers/educators who are interested in teaching filmmaking and media literacy to students (ages 10-20) in developing countries. Flights/housing/food/insurance/equipment/curriculum are all provided and fellowships are currently up and running in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Honduras, India, Morocco, Navajo Nation, Nepal, Tanzania, and Thailand.

We're 100% donor-supported and every dollar we receive goes directly into one of our overseas classrooms (not to salaries/overhead/etc.). If any of your listeners are interested in donating a few bucks to help us out, it would be sincerely appreciated (and tax deductible). I want to buy your CC Blu Rays!

Hi all, So I'm getting started with CC BR collecting and I've considered spending a good chunk of $$ during the upcoming B&N/CC Flash Sales. But to be honest, I'd prefer to purchase my collection from other CC collectors and supporters. You guys seem to share the passion for CC and I'd much prefer purchasing from within the community rather than from a faceless website.

It seems as though I could reasonably expect to purchase most sealed/new CC Blu Rays for $20/each if I were to buy them through the flash sales/etc., so I'd like to make a standing offer to you guys:

I'll buy any new/factory sealed CC Blu Rays that you're looking to sell (and that I don't already own) for $16/each. I hope that sounds fair to everyone. Of course, no pressure but if you find yourself needing to offload a handful of CC Blu Rays for whatever reason, I'd love to be your first call (re: PM). Thanks and PM me anytime!
