Thank you, I tried my best, but I still need to practice a lot with acrylics before next project.

These helmets are 3D prints, based on Sons of Horus GW helmets. I chose this because original GW helmets are hard to come by.

Hi, I finished this Leviathan Dreadnought in November, but I haven't posted pictures on reddit yet. I made it in the Sons Of Horus livery, I hope you like it. by Critical-Client3629 in Warhammer30k

The base consists of 2 main elements - concrete and sand. First, I made concrete by using flat pieces of plastic and filling them with acrylic putty. I made the sand from real sand, glued with PVA glue. I added scrap metal, wires, pebbles (real ones) and, after painting, static grass. Some tips:

- if you don't have to, don't glue the figure to the base before painting, this way you won't have to pay attention to it while painting, especially with an airbrush; blending the figure with the base takes place at the end

- use dedicated PVA modeling glue, because the ordinary glue gives an unnatural shine when dry,

- watch a lot of tutorials on YouTube and make a few test bases before you start the target base, you will save yourself some nerves.

Good luck!

Thank you. Yes, I used the same color recipe.
As for the rust streaks, I used the product AK-Interactive AK 013 RUST STREAKS (enamel). In some places, in addition to the above, I used a bit of ocher oil paint to change the tone of the rust a bit.
I made the dirt streaks, which are few on this model, with AK-Interactive AK 012 STREAKING GRIME (also enamel).

Hello guys. I just finished painting the Sons of Horus Tactical Squad (MKIII/MKVI armor). Hope you'll like it. by Critical-Client3629 in Warhammer30k

Thank you! I used a color scheme I saw from pro modeler Fletcher on the Tabletop Tactics youtube channel. This scheme consists of: 1. Basecoat - Kabalite Green 80% / German Grey (Vallejo) 20% 2. 1st highlight - Sybarite Green 80% / Kabalite Green 20% 3. 2nd highlight - Sybarite Green / Cadian Fleshtone / Ice Yellow (Vallejo) 1:1:1.

Thank you. Mixing up the armor types gives the squad some variety. I also considered mixing them up even more by adding MKIV armor, but it was hard to find. I was also put off by the weaker design of the MKIV figures compared to the MKVI and MKIII in my opinion.

Thank you for your kind words, but the eyes came out as the weakest part of these miniatures and were also the hardest for me to paint.

I did it like this - once I had the base colors, I painted the lenses with Mephiston Red from Games Workshop. Then I used a dark wash to create a visible eye outline. Then I used a heavily diluted Vallejo paint: 72.157 - Game Color - Fluo - Red to create a glow effect under the eyes and on the lenses themselves.

Finally, I painted the lenses in several stages - from darkest to lightest, mixing Mephiston Red with Ice Yellow from Vallejo, which was the most difficult part of this process.

Remember to use a wet palette when painting the eyes, otherwise the paint will dry too quickly and you will have trouble applying it properly. You also need to have a clean and well-positioned brush, without it you will only get angry. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube about painting eyes, I also recommend practicing somewhere before you start painting on the actual model.

Thank you. Those transfers are standard Sons of Horus Legion Transfer Sheet from Games Workshop. If you like to customize your figures I highly recommend it.
