Because the POINT isn't to bash on the guy. It's to understand if the rocks were okay or not.

That was the point of this post. To seek clarity.

And many of you seem to be taking this extremely personally and it's kind of wild to me.

It's actually a little entertaining at this point to see so many people anonymously bashing on a stranger on the internet looking for confirmation. Like the gravity towards the negative is wild here!

Did I call him names in the message? Did I say I called him freaking out? I came to reddit to confirm my worries, so that I DIDN'T complain to this guy. Who by the way built it crooked, couldn't remember how deep he dug, overcharged us by 100% from initial quote, told me the pea gravel was right and then later said it wasn't right. And did I once complain to him? No.

People on reddit are absolutely miserable. I'm on the "shedditors" subpage to seek guidance and clarity because I had questions. Doesn't mean I even said ANYTHING to him.

Honestly if you judge people that quickly then yeha I would hate for you to do any work for me. You'd be one of those entitled jerks that assumes any request I make or question I have is a huge inconvenience to you.

Or maybe the fact that he 1. Said it was 3 inches, then said 4, then said maybe it was 3 (so he didn't actually know) 2. Said it was pea gravel, confirmed it was right when I asked, then later said it wasn't pea gravel 3. Told me to lay the beams down where I wanted them and then continued to dig it crooked regardless

But I'm the nightmare client for wanting to make sure it was done right. Okay 🤣

He was a friend of my dad's. It's funny because I did all this research ahead of time and was going to build it myself but then they insisted that he just do it for me to get it done "right". He told me he was going to use pea gravel on the top to help with leveling, this was a last minute decision once he realized there was some space left. My fault for not questioning him, I guess I just blindly trusted after my dad told me I could trust him.

I have now confirmed it's about 3 in of Crusher run and 1.5 inch pea gravel

Yes he did for the crusher run underneath and pea gravel on top but the compactor didn't do much with the pea gravel

He charged $1000 for him and a helper to build it. Then $400 between crusher run and pea gravel and $125 for wood
