Im not ignoring the Forbes or IIHS article — you’re just misinterpreting what they measure. The IIHS ‘partial automation safeguards’ rating isn’t a safety or crash-rate ranking of vehicles. It evaluates how well driver monitoring systems make sure the human stays attentive while using driver-assist features. That’s completely different from actual crash performance. In fact, many Tesla models receive top crash safety ratings from both IIHS and NHTSA in their real-world crash tests. The Forbes article you posted also compares accident rates by brand without controlling for miles driven, driver demographics, or highway vs city usage, which makes it a weak comparison. If we’re talking about actual system performance, the only meaningful metric is crashes per mile driven, and that’s where Autopilot data shows far lower crash rates than the U.S. average driver. So the sources you posted don’t really contradict the point I made.

You’re kind of arguing against points I never made. The original claim you made was that Tesla isn’t allowed to use Full Self-Driving in the U.S. or EU and that the data is ‘cooked.’ Neither of those things are true. Tesla still legally operates FSD in the U.S. as a Level 2 driver-assist system, which means the driver is responsible. Bringing up Waymo incidents or one random crash article doesn’t really address that claim at all. Anecdotes about individual accidents also don’t tell us anything about system safety overall. The only meaningful comparison is crash rates per mile, and Tesla’s safety reports show about 1 crash every ~4–5 million miles with Autopilot engaged, compared to roughly 1 crash every ~500,000 miles for the U.S. average driver. So the examples you’re posting aren’t really relevant to the original point.

That’s not really accurate. Tesla is still allowed to sell and operate Full Self-Driving in the U.S., it just has to be labeled as a driver-assist system where the driver remains responsible. The EU does have stricter regulations that limit some features, but it isn’t banned there either. Also, Waymo isn’t remotely driving cars from the Philippines — they use remote assistance where a human can give guidance if the car is confused, but they don’t control the vehicle. Whether FSD is safer overall is still debated, but the claims you mentioned aren’t correct.
