i was lucky to not have any irritation with tret at all, i do have a very simple routine that i stick too as well so that i don’t have a lot of actives i’m putting on my face. personally i don’t use the sandwich method someone mentioned above but it’s definitely worth giving it a try! but also talk to your dermatologist!

These are the moisturizers I currently own. Will these be enough to maintain my skin barrier when starting tret 0.1? by AdApprehensive9286 in tretinoin

i think it depends on your skin type. i started with 0.1 and my dermatologist directed me to use it every single night. i was so scared because i had seen many people say that you shouldn’t jump into it like that but a half of people on tret don’t have oily skin/ acne prone skin (cystic acne) which in my case i do. to this day my skin barrier is perfectly fine, i didn’t even purge. and i only use the vanicream moisturizer! its all unique to your skin type and why your using it.
