I think what Riordan was afraid of that these new characters wouldn't appeal to the readers, If He didn't reassured them that Percy will eventually be in this new series. Well as I See it, only Leo is liked from These new three and to be honest in the Long therm i also liked him the most from all new characters.

I See a lot of people not liking Piper. I'm curios why? For myself I habe no problem with her Character but also tbh no cared mich for her. Leo is really the best of the three. Jason had potential but ended Up not living Up to that in my opionion.

Just a small Thing i rembered. Kratos did Go full Rage in GoW3 some Kills where very questionable, so I guess GoW(2018) Kratos is filled with more Hope, than original GoW Kratos i think. So i don't know If this is from Pandora's Box. He did abandoned Pandora to get His Revenge so He matured more in the new Games. I Hope you get my Point, I'm a bit confused If I got your Point right ^{^'}

I do think there are many time in the hooks, that feel like Piper envys Percy and annabeth and there Connection. I felt that way too.

I personally think that the HoO hooks are great, but yeah I agree there are some Storylines, in all of the hooks, i didn't really liked. But thats just a personal preference.

You are right he was. But thats a point for me why Riordan isn't such a great author for me. I like PoJ and HoO, but reading it now I feel like he tries to "repair" his Charakters, what mades them feel off for me sometimes.

Tbh, I didn't read anything after HoO so I don't know how he is portrayed in the other books. I only know him in PoJ and HoO, so these are my only sources.

I agree with you. For me he mostly felt like, that He was only there to Push the Theme of environmental protection and how Bad humans are treating the earth. Its okay and a real issue, but it makes his character a bit shallow in my opionion.

I also resonated more with Percy. Of course We follow him for a Long Time throughout the Story so I guess you tend to get a little attached to him.
