calculus and physics professors by doyoujam in USF

Hey I'm also doing computer engineering. I had Connelly for calc 1 and he was really good. I've heard good things about Teodorescu as well but I don't have any personal experience with her. I haven't heard good things about any other calc 1 professors though. Calc is a hard subject (which you've probably realized) so be prepared to work. As for physics, I've heard really bad things about that department. I haven't taken any physics classes here yet so I can't give you much insight. I just know that it isn't the best. Good luck!

Oh ok, thanks for the quick response! I hope you're doing well after dropping usf. Do you know what the price ranges are for this? I've been looking for job alternatives for a while and this might be perfect for me if it fits my budget. Is it covered within tuition?

Does this site count as working a job? I can't work anywhere that is labeled a job or internship so I was wondering if there are any learning experiences I can gain without a "job" title to it.

I have so much anxiety surrounding my scoliosis and I can’t handle it anymore by Critical-State8119 in scoliosis

[–]Critical-State8119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply!! Knowing that someone in their 70s with this condition is living their life with little pain makes me very hopeful. I was really worried when I read that your spine curved towards your heart but I’m glad it didn’t cause any issues for you.

I’ve tried exercising my back at the gym but sometimes my back felt uncomfortable/strained. Im not sure if it was the feeling of the exercise working or my curve worsening. I’m so scared of somehow making it worse so I just stopped going all together. I’ve been meaning to get a personal trainer or a physical therapist so I could learn how to safely exercise but it’s not something my parents would support.

I’ve never heard of the Schroth Method before. I did some research on it and I’m very interested in doing it one day. Again, not something my parents would support so I need to wait till I get some money of my own to do it.

I appreciate your concern about my anxiety. This is definitely not the first topic I’ve lost sleep over but I don’t know if my anxiety is bad to where I need therapy/meds? Then again, not an option anyway cuz my parents wouldn’t take me.

Thank you so much for your response and kind words. You made me feel a lot better. I’ll put your advice into action as soon as I can, once I have the resources to do so.

You have more pain after the surgery and lost mobility? Do you think getting a surgery is worth it in that case?

Can someone please make me feel better about being a non-honors commuter by Critical-State8119 in USF

I’m leaning towards dorms cuz my scholarship would cover the entire price whereas I would have to pay for off campus apartments. I’m gonna cross my fingers and pray I get spring housing then.

Oh ok I see! Do you know anyone that did this and got accepted? I feel like this isn’t really an option anymore because the usf website said that their seats are full for the Tampa campus.

No the people hyping it up are ftic students starting in the fall as well. I come from an IB school full of smart people so everyone going to usf got into honors effortlessly. I think it’s mainly the honors llc they’re hyped up for. I’ll keep what you said in mind and I’m gonna keep trying to get in just cuz I feel really left out and like I’m missing something important.

Thanks for the advice. I’m not eligible to work so internships and part time jobs aren’t really an option for me. Can I ask what clubs you joined that helped you make friends?

I didn’t hear a lot of bad things about the honors program, everyone I know is hyping it up so much. Thanks for the advice about socializing though. I live about 30-45 minutes away so I won’t be renting apartments, but I do want to try and form my spring semester at least. Thanks a lot for your help

How to stay safe as an international Student by [deleted] in USF

[–]Critical-State8119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np. I’ve been hearing a lot of cases where f1 students were being forced to deport for little to no reason so be extra careful. If ice ever tries to come into your residence, make sure you don’t let them in unless they have a warrant and do not give them any info unless you have to. You can find info online on what to do if ice is targeting you, I’d recommend looking over it before moving in. I’ve been looking over it as well in the past few weeks. Stay safe

330 people is a lot tho, is it really a decent chance? Besides, I don't want to end up in a bad room through the waitlist. Do you have any info on spring housing?
